The cost is higher than average, but the performance makes it worthwhile. Accuracy is excellent, and the feature set is well executed. The unit turns on and off automatically when the probe is opened or closed. The screen is large, backlit, and easy to read. It also rotates automatically so the display is always oriented correctly. Build quality is very solid, and the thermometer is rated IP67 for water resistance. Overall, this feels like a top-tier kitchen thermometer. LOVE my Thermapen ONE. Accurate, fast, and wicked expensive but I recommend it. Wish it was easier to switch between C and F but it’s the best thermometer I’ve ever owned. I used to buy cheap thermometers that would stop working after a few months. Would buy again and highly recommend.
