Fantastic Training Aid
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I originally purchased the LaserHIT 9mm system for my brother for Christmas. I opened the package in order to familiarize myself with it, and I’m glad I did. At the time of this review I have 583 trigger pulls on the Laserhit, and was so impressed I kept this one and ordered another for him. I’ve been a firearms instructor for my local PD for 6 years, and I know family obligations, overtime, ammo costs etc prevent many of us from spending as much time on the range as we would like. That’s why dry fire practice is so important. I was impressed with the packaging and quality of not only the LaserHIT cartridge, but the enclosed targets and the IPhone app as well. Upon opening the app you’re reminded of important firearm safety rules before proceeding. I’m still familiarizing myself with the system and have done some slow fire bullseye as well as quick shooting practice. The LaserHIT app has been extremely accurate and effective at registering hits on target in different lighting conditions. I’ve trained in my living room, basement and gym, so far with no issues. The app comes with four stages of fire, the “Free Target” and “Black Steel” stages are free, while the “Top Score” and “Quick Hit” ones are 10$ each. I purchased the “Quick Hit” ( the one I’m training with on the video), and train to draw my weapon from the concealed appendix position. You draw at the sound of a beep, the exact moment of which you can set to go off at random times. You hear different sounds depending on where you hit the target, and a loud clear voice gives you the results. It’s a fantastic training aid for the concealed carrier. I’ve had poor customer support experience with products in the past, not so with LaserHIT. When I had a question, I emailed support with my cell number not expecting a reply that day. My phone rang less that 10 minutes later and I spoke at length with the creator of Laserhit, Dmitri. He was extremely helpful and assisted me with a few questions I had. In closing, dry fire practice is an essential training tool. Working on your draw, grip, sight alignment, front sight concentration and trigger pull in the comfort of your own home is a tremendous advantage for someone who takes their own safety as well as their families safety seriously. Don’t hesitate to give the Laserhit a try, train hard and be safe out there!

First Day Using...Meh on results.
I will save the narrative and just give bullet points.PRO:1. Come on...indoor dry fire training is awesome as a game or for increasing your speed and accuracy.2. The technology works as advertised. I had no problems with the camera reading the laser or the system not showing me my results on the big screen.CON:1. Even though I bought the full $149 package, it still requires an extra purchase for the actual training drills. You do get two game modes included, but if you purchased the "Dry Fire Training Kit" to actually train...those two modes cost an extra ten bucks each.2. You have to rack every time you fire. This isn't a knock on the makers of this kit, as it is a function of the firearm, but still it prevents double tap and lowers the realism.3. The IPhone mirroring shuts off every time the scenario resets. I don't know if there is a glitch or if I have to change a setting somewhere, but if so, I can't find it.4. I purchased the higher dollar kit to get the WiFi and the full size tripod. My issue with the WiFi is #3, but the tripod is so flimsy and wobbly that every time I need to touch the phone, the app barks at me for shaking things up. No Bueno.Neutral:1. The set up is tech driven, but still confusing. Every function has its own separate setup and instructions that, aside from being small print, scream that someone was too lazy to consolidate the information in to single set up pages (printed and/or online). I understand that there are variables, but realistically there are only three or four major variations. They could hire a freelance tech writer to sort everything out in a week and the customer experience would be vastly better.Summary.This is my first day using and thanks to some confusion in the setup process, I have already contacted the manufacturer on an issue I subsequently figured out; but still this will open a dialogue on my other concerns. I started with a Three Star rating, as that has been my honest experience, however that rating will be adjusted depending on how LaserHit handles my concerns.

Excellent app. Training kit is a rip-off.
I regret that I did not do much research before buying this $99 "kit". Laserhit sells there cartridge for $55. You can buy similar (possibly the same) cartridge on Amazon for $40. For the extra $44 to $59 you get 4 items: a 6-inch high tripod, a 7-inch wooden dowel, a nylon case to hold your cartridge and dowel, and four 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper targets. The app is free. It has 4 practice modes, 2 of which are free.Except for the targets, which have a "reload" area that you can shoot with the laser to clear the screen and set up a new session (instead of having to walk to the phone and tap the screen), I would value this kit at, let's see ... $0.You can buy a set of targets from Laserhit for $5. If you buy the kit you pay an extra $39 for a 7-inch stick, a pretty much worthless tripod, and a lovely nylon case to hold your cartridge, tiny tripod, and 7-inch stick. So buy a cartridge from Laserhit or another seller, pay Laserhit another $5 for the targets, and save a third to half the cost.On the positive side, the app is really nice! There are 4 practice modes and I've only used the 2 free ones, but setup is relatively easy. You can use your own targets in "free target" mode in combination with the "reload" area (photo attached), the "hits" look like what you would see on a paper target at the range, and there's an audible tinkle of the brass hitting the floor after each shot (nice touch). I might try the two in-purchase modes ($10 each) but I'm feeling a bit ripped-off right now. Hey Laserhit, how about you give me the apps and I'll send you back the 7-inch stick?
