DOCKERS Mens Gordon Cap Toe Dress Oxford Shoes

As an attorney, I need to dress up a fair bit, and prefer my shoes in black. I am a no-nonsense person who likes clean, functional designs, and feel that these shoes are perfect for me. As long as the manufacturer makes these, I will buy them. It is amazing to me that leather business/dress shoes of this quality are available for a cheaper price than good sneakers. Pros of this model: 1. High-quality leather. All of my pairs have worn in gracefully, without any strange wrinkling or other earmarks of low-quality leather. 2. Will take a shine if necessary. If you know how to spit-shine a shoe (ex-Army guy here), you can make these take a mirror finish with work. They also look good for court or other important appearances with a minimal brush shine. 3. Looks good without being shined. The semi-gloss finish retains its look for a long time. 4. Single-piece sole. I have been through more expensive pairs of Italian shoes than I care to count, fully half of which developed sole or heel problems walking the cobblestones of Boston (I don't know if I have a peculiar way of walking or what, but a shoe has subpar design if it's even possible for a heel to fall right off). 5. Good traction for a professional-looking shoe. This is because of the semi-hard rubber sole material and tread design. 6. Comfortable (very). 7. Cheap. You don't have to worry about ruining them with winter salt, or anything else; you can keep a knock-about pair. They are so cheap you can have a pair for every use. I have an extra pair just to throw at the cat. Or I would, if I had a cat. Cons of this model: 1. Laces which fray easily. (Oh, well. You can't have everything.)

I went surfing the Net to find a pair of Black Dress Shoes. And I found them on Amazon.com. I am 75 Years Old and a member of the VFW Post 7069 Clark Summit,Pennsylvania. We have regular Meetings once a month and special meetings,Dinners,Luncheons, Parades Etc. during the course of the year. W established a Civilian Uniform many years ago and we dress in these uniforms at these assemblies It consists of a Blue Blazer,White Shirt,Grey Slacks Black socks VFW Angular Striped Tie and Black Shoes with our VFW Cap. Well I always wore a pair of dress black shoes which for some reason did not L@@K Right . So I found the perfect Black pair of Docker Gordon Leather Black shoes. They Look Great and are very comfortable. I ordered them on Amazon From the Nashville Shoe Warehouse and they were only $52.00 and some change. shipped free and would arrive i 7 to 10 days. I put in my correct size 71/2 Medium . They were in stock and low and behold they were shipped out that Monday I ordered them on a Sunday they sent me a tracking number and they arrived 2 day later From Chapel Hill TN. at no cost for shipping and I was not in a Hurry for them if it took 10 Days that would be OK. I was not at home at the time so UPS left them on my porch. I came home tried them on and they were a perfect fit and very comfortable and L@@Ked ,really good.. So I was very Happy with the ordering the shipping the delivery and the shoes itself. Everything worked out well so my next order will be from them if they have what I want.

Genuine Leather: For genuine leather shoes, this is a reasonably priced product. Fit & Finish: The shoes fit well, the finish appears to be good, and the leather is soft, ideal for the shoes to mould according to the shape of the wearer’s feet. It is good that this model is offered with a “wide” toe-box. The pairs purchased, one black and one cordovan, were both 8 Wide. Sole Size: The sole sizes of the black and cordovan pairs differ slightly. The soles of the cordovan pair are slightly longer than those of the black pair, and the different appears to be 2-3 millimetres. Laces: The shoe laces are black for both the pairs. It would have been better if they matched the colour of the leather. Pictures: Enclosed.

My previous 2 pairs had lasted nearly 2 years each and I suspect that they would've lasted even longer had I known 2E wide was even an option at the time. The 2E is much roomier for me in the front and I can probably get away with a 1/2 size reduction, but, with the laces tightened, the wider shoe is equally, if not more, comfortable than the regular D/M. My first pair retired when the double stitch on the cap failed; the second pair developed a split also near the cap seam where the leather meets the welt (pictured). My early pairs were both D/M and were a little tight around the toes which probably accelerated the wear. The soles still had plenty of tread left in them and showed no signs of cracking or splitting and the heels wore as heels typically do (pictured). The leather held up rather well is in overall good condition after 2 years of use. The topline and some of the surfaces around the eyelets where the laces rubbed are the only spots where the leather wore completely through (pictured). I had no intention of replacing my previous pair until I noticed the inexcusable hole that had developed. These Oxfords soften up after a short break in period, take polish well and shine up rather nicely, and are comfortable for all day wear. For someone who doesn't mind walking or taking stairs, the shoes have proven to be durable having lasted as long as they did. The only con I can think of is that the laces that came on the new pair are extraordinarily long for 4 eyelets. There's no reasonable way to lace the shoes or to tie the laces to hide nearly 10" of extra length (pictured).

I never do on-line ordering for shoes because I often end up exchanging for a larger size or have to go up a 1/2 size at the store. It's a gamble on line and typically easier at the store since you buy what fits on the spot.The other reviews of this shoe suggested it was a perfect and comfortable choice for all day comfort. I needed a good shoe for a family wedding I'd be attending and also photographing it's entirety, meaning I'd be on my feet a lot. I ordered these a 1/2 size larger then normal to accommodate thicker socks if I chose to wear them and in that quite often, the exact size I usually wear is a tad too snug all around. Right out of the box, these shoes felt darn good! They are very well made and yet nicely flexible so they conform to your foot and feel quite good when you walk in them. Nice support inside as well with very adequate cushioning. The bottom line is that these shoes will not only look good, but, also provide all-day comfort, especially for those who are on their feet a lot. They are formal enough to wear to a special event, yet, simple enough in design to wear to work or the office. My hard-to-fit feet feel great in these shoes, even though my right foot has a bunion and these shoes are very forgiving for that with no discomfort or tightness at all! These shoes were "keepers" as soon as I tried them on the same day the pkg arrived. I did put them on and broke them for a few hours the same day of the wedding (just in case), but, honestly, they fit so well, no break-in was really necessary. Another excellent Docker product! I'm 100% delighted with them.

I ordered these in a size 10.5 wide and I am normally a size 10 but decided to get this size to put my implants since I have problems with my arch etc, now these run smaller then expected. Also my insoles that I thought I could put in don’t fit at all , shoe length is too small. Also one of the shoes show signs of use. the shoes laces are terrible they seem like for sneakers, also not sure if this is really leather or just parts of leather. They seem soft to stand in but not sure for how long. Unfortunately I will have to return them since the seem to have sent me a pair that were used or just defective , either way asking for a refund.

Was a little disappointed when I received this product as the shoes were smaller in size than shown and subsequently didn’t fit. Gave them to grandson who loves them and is getting plenty of use out of them.
