This will be protecting a £1K bicycle. It is quite heavy, but mounting on the frame with the provided fittings is an improvement over a similar one my son got last year (metal in place of plastic) and feels quite secure. I'm sure it will certainly deter thieves & hopefully prevent loss entirely.

It feels quite robust and strong. The actual lock base slides off without an issue making it really easy to use and works for locking up the both the frame and the front wheel of my bike properly. It isn’t that heavy and the main lock part can fit in your bag easily. I have a basket at the front so I put it in there. The cost of the product is pretty low for the specifications this lock has like material strength and thickness and I’ve had no issues with it so far. I’ve had it for a while now.

Easy to pop in a backpack, the chain adds extra security. A sturdy deterrent lock for the price.

Sturdy and easy to use. Lock is tough and the rope part is handy when out and about. Plus is accepted by my bike insurance

I recently purchased a more expensive bike, and I was given advice from three different cycling friends to invest in one of these D-locks which are apparently impenetrable to thieves. This may be the case, but blimey it's heavy! There's nowhere suitable to put the mount on my bike due to the frame/cross bar so I haven't used it yet. However, I like the fact that it came with an extra length of cable so I can lock up my own bike as well as a couple of others.

This is a nicely build & solid lock and the key slides in and turns smoothly, the mount however is not the best, it was hard to find a suitable place on my bike for it as the lock has to slide into the mount from behind, meaning it has to have about 2" clearance behind the mount, if it was to slide in from the front it could sit nice & flush against the frame so its a very strange design. The mount also loosens quite regularly requiring constant tightening. I abandoned the mount & just hang the lock over the frame when riding as the lock itself is great, but a shame the mount is not really that useful.
