I let it sit out the first night and the next day there must have been fifty fruit flies floating in the stuff. So, only 999,950 left to go! **Q: Does it attract biting horseflies?** A: No. Horseflies are attracted to dark moving objects. Google "make your own horsefly trap". Catching horseflies involves a more complicated trap but it's worth the extra effort IMO **Q: does it work on big horse flies?** A: Don't know if they are horse flies but in the city we get ginormous flies that fly really fast, make a high whining noise, and are really aggressive. I call them Razor Flies becuz of the sound. And they LOVE the smell of this trap.
