My smaller potted rhododendrons did not appreciate all the sun they happened to be getting in the AM. Purchased these to filter out the direct AM sun. The umbrellas helped with the scorched leaves situation I was noticing. They definitely will not hold up to high winds. Think of it as a super cheap umbrella for yourself.
