1年5ヶ月使用時点で故障しました。HDDのアクセスで発生した熱が原因でSATA-USB変換基盤が熱暴走しているようで、読み出しを数分続けるとUSB接続が切断と再認識を繰り返します。幸いHDDそのものにはダメージがないようなので試行錯誤して救出してみました。同じような症状の壊れ方をする人が他にいるかどうかはわかりませんが参考までに記載しておきます。 ・このHDDをPCの「USB2.0」の端子につなぐ ・室温10度以下の部屋で作業を行う（作業時12月） この条件がそろった場合のみ、4TB以上のデータを連続で読み出しても暴走せず完遂することができました。USB2.0経由なので当然ですが1TB読み出すのに10時間ほどかかりました。 機械に故障は付き物ですし、製品に3年保証がついているのでそのことで評価は下がりません。読み書き速度、動作音などは平凡ではあるもののケースが無骨なデザインで気に入ってます。ただネットでの交換例を見ると交換品が届くまでひと月ほどかかるようなので、交換は諦めてHDDを取り出し他のケースに載せ換えるか悩むところです。

ゲーム用途をメインで使いたいという人でもおすすめができません。 なぜなら設計不良により故障が頻発し交換する度にお金と労力がかかる問題児です。 2023年1月にゲームを中心に雑多なデータを使うメインのポータブルHDDとして導入しました。 デザインはとても良くとても気に入っていますし、HDDの老舗であるWestern Digitalで高級価格帯のWD Blackであるから安心できるだろうと思っていました。 普段使っていたHDDよりも温度が50度よりも高いのが気になっていましたが、それが原因で故障頻発することになりました。初期症状は、ファイルのコピーやエクスプローラーの動作がもたついたり落ちてしまう現象に見舞われました。Crystal Disk infoで確認したところ、セクターの異常が大量発生していました。急いでデータを他のストレージにコピーし一部のデータは失い、RMA交換に出しました。そして何回も交換していくこととなります。 ・2519時間使用後、上記のようなセクター異常により交換対応 ・2427時間使用後、交換されてきたHDDも同様に同じ現象でセクター異常により交換対応 ・843時間使用後、交換されてきたHDDも同様に同じ現象でセクター異常により交換対応 ・現在交換されてきた4代目のHDDは熱を持ちやすい事から暑い季節はウィンドファンを付けながらバックアップ用に運用しています。 このHDDの問題点としては ・ゲーム用途に特化している影響で熱を持ちやすいがケースでの放熱がうまくいっておらず基盤が逝ってしまい高頻度で故障してしまう。（噂ではケースは金属製ではなくて樹脂製なのではと言われてしまう） ・ポータブル用途として使うためにエアフローを気にしないといけないため、外では全く使い物にならない。（夏場には2.5インチHDDの癖にウィンドファンに当てる必要がある） ・ゲームで高速でコピーできるという割には4800rpmもしくは5400rpmのため、割と遅い（100MB/sくらい） ・RMA交換では送料が企業側ではなく自分持ちになるため、故障する度に送料がかかり負担がかかる。 こういった理由からおすすめしません。

①データ転送速度、②静音性（ほぼ無音）、③PC認識速度、④本体のデザイン（鉄道コンテナみたいでカッコいい）⑤容量（6TB）この5項目について全て合格です。またHDDを使用する時だけ接続する場合に特に重要な⑥本体重量の軽さ、⑦コンパクトさ、⑧電源アダプタ無しで使用可、⑨本体の頑丈さ、この4項目についても全て合格です。この手の精密機器をネット購入する場合は発送業者により商品が雑に扱われる（商品を放り投げる業者はいないと信じたいですが）可能性が無いとは言えないので、初期不良（輸送中の不都合も含めて）が無いか心配すると思います。しかしながらこの商品は元々のパッケージ（メーカー梱包箱）が厳重にされている（HDDがプラケースの中にピッタリ固定されていてズレない）為、輸送中の不都合がある可能性は低いと思います。価格については内蔵型HDD、電源アダプタ付き設置型外付けHDDに比べて価格が高いのは仕方のないことだと思うので減点は無しです。1点だけ容量が最大で6TBまでなので大容量（8TB↑）があるとさらに良いと思います。

容量等問題ないし、転送速度も問題ない。 ただ、PCに保存した動画データをこちらに保存すると移動したデータの後半1/4程度が壊れます。 HDをリフレッシュすると一時的に直りますが、しばらくすると同じ症状が出るように。 動画編集等で使ってますが、ゲーム以外には向かないんでしょうか。 次からは普通のHDDにします。
