Decent distiller
My previous distiller(different brand) broke within 8 months, which was double the price of this, so decided to give a cheaper brand a chance. This one distills as much water in the same amount of time as the one I previously had. I was worried at first because of reviews about the taste, which was and issue for maybe the first 5 times I used it but it cleared up after. This tastes just as good as my old one as well. The quality of thrones product is good and you will need to buy carbon filters because ethos only came with one. Still early days so can't comment on durability but I feel this is good value for money and looks nice in red too.

Enjoying clean water
I didn't believe that even drinking water bought at supermarket has some impurities till I bought this distiller. It is working perfectly. Just try, you won't believe what you are going to find out. The only issue is that the glass bottle was broken. I don't know whether the supplier can sell it alone.

Went rusty after 2 weeks of use.
PROS: Modern design. This water distiller does what it is supposed to do. It comes with a good quality glass collection jug, not one of those horrible cheapo plastic ones. You have to do a couple of distilling runs and discard the collected water as it tastes bad. However, taste improves to a degree with each successive run. Easy to clean with the powder cleanser that comes with the item. Easy to assemble. Plug in and use straight out of the box. CONS: The fan is rather noisy. You only get 3.5 litres from a FULL level distilling run, not 4 litres as advertised. I am extremely disappointed that the inside of the "stainless steel" distiller drum has started to go rusty after only 2 weeks of light use (used once per day). The rust patches are getting bigger after each run, and the limescale removing cleanser doesn't remove the rust. The quality and thickness of the stainless steel drum inside is really poor for the price. So, I don't know how much use I will actually get out of this water distiller, time will tell. I wouldn't buy again. And that's why I have give this item only 1 star.

Excellent
We have used this for a few weeks now without any issues. The noise level on this is not dissimilar to when you have a dehumidifier on (a medium sized dehumidifier not the small window sill ones). The size is like that of a coffee machine, which doesn't take up much counter top space. Easy to clean, white vinegar will do it. The water tastes excellent - we add Celtic salt to our individual glass water bottles to give it back some good minerals and electrolyte. The capacity is is only 4L and we don't fill it right up, we store it in 1L glass bottles and this normally fills up about 4 and a half bottles. if there was a bigger version for home use, like 6L then it would be perfect as it gets consumed really quick. The quality is good for the price. It does take exactly 4 hours to distill. Now comes that not good part - the metal shaped standalone part that is inside the drum fell off whilst we were cleaning it, looks like they just welded it on the 4 corners so it isn't very sturdy in the first place, plus the underside of this thing is hard to clean and looked a bit rusty. Apparently according to AI that thing helps to draw water up more efficiently but whether it does or not is up for debate. We did contact amazon and returned this, but then we bought another one because it is the most affordable and we liked using it, however this new one the inside barrel is not as smooth, meaning there is a minor dent in it, which we hope won't go rusty. overall I do recommend this item. if not for the mishaps it would have a 5 star.

Brilliant
I don't normally do reviews but had to for this one; so far it's been great. As a bonus I am finding I get 4 odd litres in two hours

It’s bigger than it looks
The Distiller is great, I can’t believe how much crap is left behind after it’s finished distilling the water,(see photos) the water tastes so much better, i originally got this for my house plants, but seeing all that was left behind, nope never drinking tap water again, You will need to buy extra filter bags but they’re cheap, even if you don’t buy this one buy a smaller one, I am disappointed is that the bottle is plastic, i did know before i bought it, It is bigger than i thought it would be but it is a 6 Lt one, It is very easy to set up and though it does make a noise it’s not too loud, it does get hot and it will heat a room 🤣 Overall it does what it’s supposed to.

As UK tap water quality deteriorates, a destiller is essential
Where we live, the tap water has a bad taste and stinks of chemicals, thus is unsuited to coffee, tea and general cooking. This distiller solves the issue, providing clean water that you can subsequently mineralize to give you the coffee and tea water you require. The residue left by the tap water in the distiller after use tells you all you need to know about the justification for the purchase :).

Works fantastic
I got tired of buying distilled water for my CPAP and room humidifier. I got tired of wasting so many plastic bottles. I looked at several distillers on Amazon and saw a lot with mixed reviews, mostly that they leaked or rusted. I saw the reviews for this one were pretty positive so I ordered it. I mean it is Amazon so if it didn’t live up to the reviews it could go back. Well, it more than lived up. The instructions were simple. It was sent in a well packed box with no damage. It was simple to install the handle on the carafe. I filled it with hot water and we were off to the races. It took about four hours to distill a gallon of water. It was crystal clear. The fan is a little noisy but not enough to interfere with listening to conversations or the television. It does heat up the room a bit but that dissipates quickly after the process is complete. It did so well that I use it for water to make coffee and to use in my electric kettle. That saves my keurig and kettle from getting hard water deposits also. The distiller does get hard water deposits but once a month I use three tablespoons of the citric acid powder, fill it with water and let it heat up, without the top distiller coil mind you, and after letting it boiled for thirty minutes the hard water deposits disappear and the main body looks brand new, with the stainless steel all shiny again. I have made about 25 gallons so far with no problems at all. I really love this distiller. I highly recommend it.

Quality Product!
This is a great counter top distiller. It doesn’t flip my breaker like other brands did and it fills a 4L jug in about 4 hours if you fill it with hot tap water. I pour a little vinegar in the bottom to clean it after each use and it’s lasted really well! I use it almost daily.

Great unit!!
I have had this distiller for a few months and I am very happy with it. Price was excellent, quality good, design excellent. This unit has replaced our previous MegaHome distiller that sadly isn’t worth the price, in less than 2 years it died and it had cost me 3 x the price of my new unit. I like that this unit is larger has more megawatts so in less time than my old unit I have more water distilled water. The water tastes good, keep the unit clean between uses to save time on a crusty bottom, yes the pot does get discoloured but this isn’t uncommon in distillers depending on how much crap is in your water to start with. We have a water softener so yes there is lots of crap in the water. The container that collects the distilled water is sturdy, I transfer water to a glass gallon jug and keep a minimum of 12 gallons of water on hand for drinking and cooking. The unit shuts off when it is empty then you use the reset button for your next use. what I like is the on and off switch that I didn’t have on the other unit so if you want to stop the unit before it is empty just switch it off without unplugging it. Overall great machine for the price I paid, Thankyou for making this product so well!!

Better than expected
Reading some of the reviews before I bought this, I had some concerns. 2+ months later my wife and I are very pleased with this appliance. Fortunately for us, the water quality where we live isn't bad, so my experiences may differ from others. But one thing I do is, somewhat, meticulously, keep the inner container clean. I think maintenance here is critical for the long term functioning of this distiller. The appliance comes with a granular cleaning detergent and I use that monthly, but I've found that letting the container soak in a 50/50 water vinegar solution for a few minutes to an hour between cycles keeps the inside relatively free of scale. It also seems to make it easier for the monthly cleaning to get the insides near new condition. I have not experienced any leaks or other malfunctions and after 2+ months the appliance is still in great working order. We use it every few days since we like to put distilled water in the bedroom humidifier, it keeps the humidifier much cleaner and no extra mineral dust to worry about, let alone whatever other potential hidden things might be in the water we don't actually want to be breathing in. I wish I had bought this distiller sooner.

Easy to use and easy to clean! Very mutual
Love this thing. Use it for my CPAP, humidifiers, robot vacuum/mop, making baby formula, Houseplants, my fur baby’s automatic water fountain, bottle warmer, and so many more! BEWARE: First two full runs of this machine is said to not be safe for drinking. I just want people to know that in case you miss that part. I just used it for mop water. I put the metal piece for the gallon upside down because I noticed that if I have it up the water that drips down follows along the inside and drips around the opening of the gallon rather than inside it. Or you could just like not use the metal piece or you can use a silicone funnel. Love this machine and it is just a tank literally lol. Not too heavy, but he gets the job done. No odor at all. It seems very durable. The only annoying thing is getting water in it because I can’t fit in my sink, so I gotta kinda hold it at a weird angle and spray into it. Also, don’t forget to plug in the top lid as well. Otherwise you’re just boiling water and it’s probably gonna do little to nothing. I wouldn’t have cabinets or anything above this guy as just a precaution so you don’t accidentally ruin your cabinets if you forget to plug in the top lid or you’re cleaning it with the lid off and just forget that this is a lot of hot steam. When you run it normally though it is totally fine and does not release any moisture at the top. Very easy to clean if you use citric acid that they give you or buy some at the store for cheap. Just make sure that you have the lid off when you’re cleaning it. Overall, great easy use and easy to clean!
