Whole Foods Market, Organic Fair Trade Vanilla Bean, 1 ct (Pack of 2)

I love this vanilla bean. It isn't like most I've purchased, meaning as tough as shoe leather and difficult to mash or grate; both of the stalks were fresh and pliable. It's also priced better than anything I could find at a grocery store.

Good quality. Great flavor. Not dried out. A staple for the holidays.

Very fresh and pungent. I am using the beans to make my own essence.

It's good and new batch of vanilla is ready. Tasty too.

Smells nice and fresh. I normally buy Madagascar vanilla bean vines and make my own Vanilla extra, and other things. So I can smell the difference though not by much. The one I recieved smelt fresh, looked great, decent in size. The only thing I cant get over is there is only 1. Value of it for one, was fair but I think I'd stick with my own bundle. This is just my own personal preference.

Can't do poached pears without vanilla bean. This one was fresh, potently aromatic and flavorful - I knew the moment I opened the jar that my dessert the next evening was going to be a hit - and it was. Not only that, but I only used half, the other half went back in the jar and languished in my spice cabinet for 3 or 4 weeks and was used for the same dessert at my next occasion. Just as potent, just as delicious!

It's a cute item, haven't opened it yet, but I thought it would be a much taller thin bottle. It's actually a spice sized jar with a spice jar shaker insert. The vanilla bean in folded in half. I was hoping it was going to be a much taller bottle I could use for several vanilla beans standing tall in vodka. But the jar looks nice and I best the bean is just fine.

There is legit 1 vanilla bean stalk per so be warned. I thought there were two in there from the photos but its only 1!
