Fabrics and Drapes 1/8" Wide Leaded Weighted Drapery Tape/Cording Style # - WC - 0041 (20 Yards)

I had six pairs of room darkening drapes, twelve 30in wide panels. 12x30=360 inches. 20 yds of weights=720 inches. 2x360=720 inches! Perfect. I simply put two strands in the hem of each panel, tacked them in with thread and voila, weighted drapes. They are for our California Living Room out by the pool. We live in the desert and temperatures can get up to 125 degrees in the summer. You don’t find many shade trees in the desert. We bought Cooleroo UV resistant roller shades which are great, but with a full western exposure those last few hours before the sun sets behind the mountain are brutal. The sun reflecting off the pool is bad enough but combine the double glare of sun and pool and you see spots for hours! We get quite a bit of wind and I don’t expect these weights to keep them from blowing around totally. I just wanted something to keep them under control. I didn’t want heavier weights because if they blow around I didn’t want them to become lethal!

My daughter bought some curtains for her screened porch and needed me to adjust them. I used this in the bottom of each curtain and the hang just beautifully!

Needed something thin to weight down lace table runners for a wedding. Encased them at each end and PERFECT! Can't see it at all.

I've used these for years but finally stopped when I realized that compared to the $2/yard they cost, actual pennies (1 cent coins) are heavier and, end to end, cost only 48 cents per yard. Yes, you have to wrap them yourself if you want to use them in clothing, but for drapes that will never see the inside of a washing machine, I scotch tape both sides of the coins to keep them flat, and sew them into the hem.
