I absolutely love this product! The texture looks a little thick at first, but it spreads very easily, feels lightweight, and absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. I have combination/oily, acne-prone skin with rosacea, and this has been amazing for maintaining clear skin. It helps keep my pores clear, reduces blackheads and occasional breakouts, and gives a very gentle exfoliation without irritating or drying my skin. A little goes a long way, so I think the bottle will last quite a while. I’ve been using it every morning for about a month, and I’m very happy with the results. If you already tolerate salicylic acid well and are looking for a gentle daily treatment, I highly recommend it.

I’ve suffered with acne scars for decades. Anyone living with them knows how it affects your entire life. I’ve gone to an esthetician for over a decade and my skin health improved but I still had embarrassing hyperpigmentation and scars. So, I went into ChatGPT and asked about softening acne scars. I got tons of advice and product recommendations for my brownish and reddish acne scar discoloration. I purchased the Paula’s Choice BOOST not expecting anything that great BUT I can’t believe the brightness in my skin and a total transformation with the hyperpigmentation. I began to notice it within days. The scars are must less noticeable and some days when I look in the mirror I can believe it’s me. I started out using it every other night to avoid possible irritation but I use it nightly now. It absorbs nicely and isn’t greasy. It’s been life changing for me.

what i’m dealing with: 30 years old. painful monthly hormonal acne focused in the chin area. dark hyperpigmentation left after even if I don’t touch it. what i’ve noticed with 1 week of use: new hormonal acne still comes but much less so. where i would usually get 3 new ones, i am now only getting 1. not a total life saver, but its only been 1 week so i will take it!! i noticed this speed heals the ones that were already there. and they don’t leave as dark of a mark. hyperpigmentation on my mouth corners hasn’t changed too much in my opinion. this is from over exfoliating and not caused by acne. less oil was the most noticeable difference. this will help with surface breakouts. as for the deep hormonal ones, i have noticed less overall but not a complete halt. but its only been 1 week of use. I question why I didn’t get this product sooner in my life. Seriously. This product has made such a positive change in my skin - I feel like crying. While I have never been officially diagnosed, I’ve always felt that I have a type of rosacea. I don’t get pustules, zits or anything like that (unless I consume a lot of certain sugary drinks, and food) but for as long as I can remember, my face has always dealt with redness. Yes, certain things such as consuming sugar triggers it and makes it worse. I’ve been using skincare since my mid 20s. I am currently in my early 30s. I feel for the most part I was using products that were benefiting my skin, but as far as the redness went, nothing I used seemed to treat it. Around a year ago, I heard about how azelaic acid can be beneficial to people who have rosacea - treating redness and the pustules that go with it. So while I was aware of it, I just kept putting off purchasing it. Life stuff always coming up. After talking with ChatGPT about how sick I was about always walking around with a red/pink face, it recommended azelaic acid. Specifically Paula’s Choice. Now we all know that with a lot of skin care products it can take time to see differences. No lie… I began seeing results from this within just under two weeks or so. The redness in my face has decreased A LOT. I am now at a point in my life where I feel more comfortable going out without having to wear foundation or using something like Cicapair by Dr. Jart+ (which by the way is great at covering the redness). I am extremely pale, so dealing with a face that was red almost constantly - I felt that the difference between my face and body were so dramatically different, it made me self-conscious. But now? I am much more confident. The redness isn’t completely gone, but when I say it has been dramatically reduced, I mean it! My skin also has this type of glow that I’ve never experienced with other products - not even my tretinoin. I use this product every other day. I have several products I use for my skin and I cycle through them every other day. When I do apply this, like with every other skin care product, I always mist my skin lightly with water. Yes, doing this increases the potency of products but for my skin, I can tolerate it just fine. I also feel that by dampening your skin, the product spread, spreads a lot more evenly and easily. While this is priced at $39 and being only 1 ounce, I know it sounds expensive. But I will say that a little goes a LONG way. You don’t need to be using globs of this stuff. Also, I feel you can get away with using this every other day, like myself, so it can last longer. Everyone’s skin is different. Like I said, I’ve never been officially diagnosed, but based on what I’ve experienced and what I’ve read, I truly do feel I have some form of rosacea. I also have certain triggers that make it worse; such as consuming certain types of sugary drinks. So I feel that if you identify your specific triggers, use this product… you should see a definite difference. Wish I had gotten this product sooner! I absolutely love it.

I received this today and wanted to try it. I put a thin layer on and noticed this weird smell. I’m so hyper aware of it it almost smells like acidy vomit. I’m disappointed because I don’t think it’s good maybe it’s expired? Idk. I want to return it and get one that’s not gross.
