Hirose 12Pin Female HR10A-10P-12S to Leadwires I/O Power Cable for Sony CCD Basler Pilot Hitachi Panasonic Marshall Camera Aviator GigE (3M)

I almost passed on this cable, because I'm currently using M12 connectors. But those Hirose style connectors are just so tiny and sleek, what with their bayonet style connection and very small form factor. I decided it was worth the reengineering to jump to Hirose. I need 12 leads and I need shielded cables for a project upgrade, but it HAD to be 90 degree elbow. The existing connector, an M12 style, was a real pain in the neck to assemble by hand. So I bit the bullet and got this one. The cable is a very nice grade of soft and flexible jacke, with plenty of synthetic fiber fill for such a high wire count. (12 wires, plus shield) Note that there are twelve wires, PLUS the shield, which should not be used as a current carrying cable, but only as an EMF drain connection. The shield does NOT have a pin at the socket. It connects to the shell only. The wires are collectively shielded but otherwise NOT shielded from each other, which means this is not great for analog signal transmission, though you might get away with it in a few instances. It is primarily for data and control signals. Wire looks like about 24 gauge, with a cable diameter of 9/32 or about 7.1mm diameter. Color code is the usual rainbow, plus two - brown with white stripe and purple with white stripe, Connector is 9 pins circumfrence, with an equilateral triangle of 3 pins in the center of the 9 pin circle. The connector is female gendered, so your bulkhead connector will need to be male. The cable is rated for 80 degrees C, at a maximum of 30v (not specified AC or DC) The cable jacket is tighly bonded to the woven tinned copper shield and the cable flexes easily without too much cable memory syndrome. It is a black semi-matte finish typical of camera cables, etc. All in all, an attractive high-density cable in the angle plug layout, suitable for many DIY and adaptor projects. Companion Hirose connectors in either gender can be utilized to complete this cable, or it can be permanently wired on one end in a custom installation. I'm very happy with the extra wires, the cable flexibility and the reasonable length. The cable quality is first rate, and the connector looks good as well. Five stars - no issues. A good 12 pin shielded cable for your custom built systems requiring control and data movement in difficult and/or portable environments.

This Hirose cable is well-built and sturdy. The right-angle connector fits perfectly with my Basler industrial camera, and the 3-meter length gives me plenty of flexibility for mounting. The cable quality is excellent - robust insulation and secure connections. Highly recommended for any industrial camera setup.

Overall pretty satisfied. I have doubts whether it has a genuine Hirose connector, but the quality is more than comparable.
