XIAOMI Redmi A5 Smartphone – 4GB+128GB, 6.52" HD+ Display, 5000mAh Battery, Android 13 Go Edition, Dual SIM – Golden

I ordered this phone to replace my husband's old handset as that is only configured for 3G so will be off network by the end of the year. I was looking for the most cost effective way to get him a phone that was suitable for calls, text messaging, streaming sporting events and for the couple of apps he uses. He mainly needs a phone to be a phone with a few extra benefits - such as a local area taxi app. The phone itself is incredibly lightweight, makes a big change from his old handset. The screen is large and is the full size of the front of the phone. Colour resolution seems to be pretty good with good contrasts. The camera is a basic but does the job. For us the camera quality is not particularly important - the only photos he tends to take are when he is out shopping and wants to send me an image of a product. Set up was so simple, I was absolutely amazed. I was transferring from one Android phone to another and I just needed to have them sat next to each other and turned on. The Redmi A5 even prompts you when to pop your micro-SD card in. Transferred all apps, messages and contacts on to the A5 from his Moto G7 (yes, you read that right a 2019 model and the only reason we are upgrading is that it only supports 3G - even the battery life is pretty darn good still) with no issues and everythign works as anticipated. The fingerprint scanner is just plain weird though. Instead of being on the screen it is sited on the on/off button mounted to the side of the phone. Seems to be hit and miss with it working and I think this is due to the location - you can use a PIN instead so that is what we have settled on. Torch is incredibly bright and easy to access by swiping down. Charging is via an included USB-C cable and seems to charge pretty quickly. Overall, considering the budget price of this phone it does everything we need (and likely more!)

I'm honestly really happy with this phone. Needed a budget replacement - previously using iPhone 14. This phone is stunning,I love the large screen size and it was so easy to set up. Amazing phone for the price, I highly recommend it. Next day delivery, well packaged. Runs all apps with no issues.

Decent cheap value for money android phone with great battery life the only negative is the sensitivity of the finger print reader or non sensitivity very annoying . Gave up in the end . Fails more often than it works meaning you have to input your lock screen code.

This phone is excellent. I can't believe I almost took out a contract for an upgrade. It runs smoothly and works with all the necessary apps. Sound is on the quieter side, but a small speaker for hands free calls is all that is needed. I wasn't looking to play media on it, just have a decent phone after my last one got damaged. Given how good the quality of the phone is, I doubt I will go with the high priced models again.

For a budget phone this is excellent, it does everything my Samsung does, very easy to set up, and a good size screen, i highly recommend this phone if you looking for a reliable phone at a great price.

Phone is a nice piece of hardware, screen looks great and build quality is excellent. Unfortunately the experience of using the phone is ruined by the notifications from Getapps to install stupid apps I don't want, adverts on the lock screen and a stupid screen when I swipe left from home which appears to exist to try and make me install popular games which I have absolutely no interest in. It seems to be impossible to get rid of all these adverts and notifications.

Had to replace my phone quickly as my other one broke. I was disappointed that this one didn't have NFC and cannot use with android auto in my car. The memory is quite limited and I quickly ran out of space even after deleting lots of photos and videos plus a SD card in use. It is a basic smart phone, but the battery is fairly reliable. I won't be upset if this phone stops working and I need a replacement.
