Very easy to see the edge of the steps now, and unlike other tapes this has pretty good traction. This is able to stop a sliding shoe on a wet step, we tested it. Be aware that a layer of ice does not work for traction anywhere. But as this is black it seems to thaw out faster than the step it is on. It sticks pretty well too. Good stuff.

Elegant looking and functional

Installed Heavy Duty Grip Tape w/Glow in the Dark Strip on 15 composite stairs, 7Nov2025 with temp ~62 degrees. With some patience and attention to detail, the process, overall was easy and well worth the cost. The strip and roller (sold separately) were delivered in 2 days and exactly as promised with only a small hiccup, which I planned for, by buying the longer roll (see below). Process that worked for me: - 1st: I cut the strips to desired lengths (I had multiple sets) and rounded the corners. - 2nd: cleaned the stairs going down and once dried, installed (going up) and rolling each strip before moving to the next one. - NOTE: When peeling the back to install, I found pulling about ~10 inches from one side, aligning with just a corner, then pressing down after aligned, worked the best. I then peeled about 6 inches at time and pressed with my hand, continually ensuring alignment. - After all the backing was removed, using a roller, I then rolled the length of the strip a few times, then went back and did the short side for the whole length. After rolling, the glue is on and will be tough to remove, FYI. - Be careful because when I wasn't, I left a little skin as payment for carelessness. The grip is just like sandpaper, as it should be for its functionality of purpose. I went with the 4 in x 60 ft size to ensure if there were any issues, I'd have plenty to deal with and this was a good thing as roughly 8.5 feet had the strip for the glow in the dark but there was no glow in the dark material. That was the only sort of issue, as there was plenty on the roll to cover that deficiency. I have a few other areas where I will still use the strips, as it feels that good, so this was not a waste. The material seems well put together and as such, its functionality is exactly as described, so Yes, I would encourage others to purchase and use.

This was easy to install and was great to prevent falls on our outdoor steps.

Works great although very hard to peel off backing.

I ordered this to use as sandpaper with my orbital sander because it is heavier and lasts longer. I was sanding multiple layers of paint from old wooden picnic tables just repainted over and over. I ended up using a belt sander instead with 40 grit belts as it was faster. I returned the product as I did not use it for my project after all. If used with an orbital, cut it to size and remove the backing to reveal the sticky. Leave an old square of sandpaper on your orbital to stick it to as the adhesive is quite strong and will be easier to remove the old and replace with another new.

I installed this tape last summer on my Trex stairs, and initially it performed very well. The grip is strong, and it made the steps much safer, especially when wet. The glow-in-the-dark strip is also a nice touch for nighttime visibility. However, during the winter months, I noticed a decline in performance. It’s only been a few weeks, but so far it’s great. While installing occasionally the film you peel off the back would tear and it would take some time to remove the remaining little torn pieces from the adhesive. I would still purchase this again.

The seller is cheating the customers by advertising as 60ft length, I purchased and could cover only 15ft hardly. I could not finish the complete job. Amazon should immediately look into this.
