I opened a small hole in a seam and fed them around with a safety pin like you would elastic and it went in very easily. My one mistake was to not leave it loose enough and I was walking like a strung-up chicken on the way to my stepson's wedding! I got a pair of scissors and undid the seam and cut through my sewing and all was well! Should have made time for a "dress rehearsal"! My own fault!Have loads left over. Great value. I know that lead is a bad word these days, but I would prefer that heavier material to the steel beads in this one, and the weight is embedded in plenty of material to avoid potential contamination of the environment, if that were even realistic for something like this. But the lead equivalent is hard to find, so I ended up with this. I have very sheer curtains that needed some weight, and these work pretty well, but could be heavier.
