We have ours against a wall. **Q: Where does the electrical for the pump and light come out of the fountain?** A: The light shines through a hole in the bottom part of the fountain in the water. **Q: Approximately how much water does the lower basin hold?** A: I haven't measured but I'd say five or six gallons. It's about the size a deep and good sized sink. **Q: How much water does it hold** A: Just filled ours, and holds about 3 gallons. Remember, you will need to outlets, one for the pump and one for the LED light.
