WAWAWEWA The Official Silent Basketball Hoop Wall-Mounted Indoor 12" Rim

I am extremely impressed with this silent basketball and hoop set. My boys are in their 20s, and they absolutely love it—they play with it all the time! The basketball truly is silent and dribbles very much like a real basketball, which makes it both fun and practical for indoor use. We can enjoy the game without worrying about disturbing others or dealing with constant noise throughout the house. As a teacher, I also see tremendous value in this product beyond simple recreation. I believe it would be especially beneficial for children who are sensitive to loud sounds, experience anxiety, or tend to avoid environments with excessive noise. The quiet design allows them to engage in physical activity and play without the sensory overload that a traditional basketball can create. I can easily see myself incorporating the silent basketball and hoop into my classroom as a reward or incentive. It provides a fun, active break for students while maintaining a calm learning environment. Overall, this is a creative, well-designed product that delivers exactly what it promises. I highly recommend it for families, classrooms, and anyone looking for a quieter way to enjoy basketball indoors.

Junk for $30??? Flimsy plastic and the ball they make to go with this is way too heavy and big. It has 6 rings for the net but the net only had 5 hoops? From a young child perspective the adhesive might be a selling point but this is just junk. It’s not sturdy and is not good quality.

Easy to install and sturdy.

Very nice. Sturdy. But the net in the hoop will not fit properly. Always it will pop out after nine to ten ball drop in. Often it needs to be fixed.

We are having so much fun with this hoop and the silent ball as well! The hoop stays up with no problem and we are able to play without making noise. Great idea!

Wanted to love this. It is absolutely very quiet especially compared to ANY over the door rim but the rim itself is WAY too small for the ball. Its like trying to shoot a full size basketball into a toddlers size rim, it cant be done. I wish they either would have made a bigger rim or a smaller ball. I went and bought and regular small size basketball to play with it but of course that makes the whole thing not silent at all and feels like I’ll break the rim if I keep using the regular ball on it. If the company makes a couple tweaks to the design and fix the size problems here it will be a GREAT product. For now, I'm pretty bummed with it.

I do not have the official silent basketball, but I did use this rim with a size 3 indoor foam basketball and it is perfectly sized for that purpose. I initially installed using the included tape but it seems the force of several hundred bricks within a week caused the tape to rip off the wall, taking a chunk of the knockdown texture on the drywall with it. So, I would definitely not recommend using the included tape on knockdown textured walls. My next attempt at mounting was to just pre-drill some holes and use the included screws without anchors since I mounted the rim in a location that has studs behind the drywall. Unfortunately, this is when I found out that the included screws are pretty terrible quality as one of the heads snapped off the screw even with the drill set to low torque. After yanking out the broken screw with a vice-grip I finished the job with a different screw I had in the toolbox. The next thing to do was to get the net to stay attached. The instructions in general were pretty sparse but for this step in particular, just incredibly confusing. The problem with this rim is that it's a plastic rim with simple hooks instead of a "normal" rim with net hooks that prevent the net from bouncing off the top from impact with the ball. Just simply hanging the net on the hooks would result in the net coming loose after a couple dozen shots. The instructions included the very unhelpful line "Pro tip: double loop". I could just be obtuse but I have no idea what this meant. I tried to tie various knots to double the amount of netting on the hook but the spacing of the hook simply does not allow the net to loop around it more than once with any tightness. The trick in the end that I used to get the nets to stay was to pull down on the net at each hook point to make sure the netting is tightly wedged in the hook, then I further pulled the lines across the hook inwards towards the hook, again to try to wedge as much of the netting as possible behind the plastic hook. With this technique, the net has not come loose after several hundred shots. Once it was all setup, it was fun for both me and the kids. My kids are 6-8 and are enjoying the 7' height that I mounted the rim at. I couldn't really mount it any higher since I only have 9 foot ceilings and we all have trouble hitting the ceiling already. This is one of the cheaper indoor rim options and after some frustration with the install and poor instructions, it's been a great rim for indoor basketball fun.

Stays on wall great, however it broke rather easy. Not very sturdy at all.

We tried plenty of other others with backboards and spring but this one is closest to real indoor basketball feel without the noise. It’s also easy to install and the adhesive is quite strong. The only complain is the net keeps getting off. Otherwise, it’s perfect!

March 2026 Update: Since the people who hoop at my home wanted ONLY this exact one, I bought it again to give it another try. I would highly recommend drilling into a stud, at least 2 of the holes if possible. We also taped down the piece that is flat against the wall. So far, it is holding up, and it has been over a month of regular use. ------------- Jan 2026 Bought this 2 weeks ago, and because this item is made entirely with plastic parts, it unfortunately did not hold up to even a few hours of daily after school use from an 8yo. Really not worth how much it sells for. It would be different if it was $19, but for $56CAD?! This is a rip off. (In the past we have had the over the door hoops with strong metal bracket and springs which have NEVER failed us. We may go back to those. Waiting to hear back form seller.
