Perfect bag.
There are many malas but this has a proper beats bag. It has two opening, one big for your hand, a small one where you can stick your index finger out when your right hand is in the bag. (not ripped as another comment suggested.) Then when you chant, you hold the beat with your thump and middle finger and go back and forth until you move to the next beat. Best not to touch the Guru beat. But again, the bag is hard to find.

There are better beads out there.
Bag came with misprinted design, one of the beads was chipped, and the bag bleached out when it got a little damp from my water bottle. It's very lightweight, the inside of the bag is pink. Cheap quality ₹100 tourist item from a temple. Not sure the wood is tulasi.
