Seems to work pretty well. It comes with a brush. The material is a thick liquid that is fairly easy to brush onto the limb. Time will tell how well it works. Thick enough that it doesn't seem to run at all.

Update: Its been about 2 to 2.5 months since application. I looked the little tree stump again and this sealing product is pealing off. We had the top a redbud tree die over winter, so I trimmed off the dead trunk in May when when it started resprouting from the roots. I was hoping to seal off the cut trunk and let the resprouts grow to replace it. I'm dropping the star rating from 5 stars to 3 based on it pealing in a couple months. Original review: Pruning sealer I've had in the past was a petrolium product. This clearly is not. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. The (slight) odor reminds me of some water based paints. I think this is likely a very thick latex paint like product. The container was about half full. But its sold by weight, so that just means the container is oversized. One nice thing: it cleans up easy with water. If you get some on you, or if you want to clean the brush after applying, just rinse in running water. No soap needed. So its more pleasant to use than the petrolium based products. Time will tell if it lasts as long. I'm also wondering if it will dry out in the container worse than the petrolium products? It had a foil seal on it, so its fine until opening. But now that its opening I wonder if it stay usable.
