シュミンケホラダム47色＋1 永山裕子先生使用 何かの偶然でハッとするほど美しい、そして極めて絵画的な濃淡が現れることがある。これをコントロールできるようになりたい人には、取り組みがいのある最高の画材となるだろう。淡い着彩からハッキリとした着彩まで万能でもある。 ただ、47色もあるとコントロールしきれずに、混色がイメージに近づけないことも多い。見た目が黒っぽく見える（透明）パンが３分の２ほどあり、直感的に色を採ることができないため。 また、塗ってから（半）不透明だったと後悔することがしばしばあった。不透明性は逆に、油彩のような雰囲気の重ね塗りをしても色が沈まないための調律なのだろう。 さらに、紙の上に絵の具水たまりができてしまいそれが乾いた時や、着彩が完全に乾く前に絵の具や水を落とした時には、非常に美しくないギザギザの油じみた濃いにじみが現れる。グズグズしていると失敗が失敗として歴然と現れてしまうのも、この絵の具のレベルの高さゆえだろう。 ウィンザー＆ニュートンプロフェッショナル24色 春﨑幹太先生使用 透明感がとにかくすごい。なぜ「透明水彩」と言うのかが真に分かる。シュミンケを数ヶ月使った後で開封したのだが、急に上達したような錯覚すら覚えた。４色ある緑色の美しさはシュミンケホラダムにも勝る。 24色しかないことで、かえって混色する時に色彩を完全にコントロールできている感覚が得られた。「もっと緑っぽく」「もっと青っぽく」「もっと暗く」したいと思った時に、どのパンを採ればいいか、色数が少ないゆえに迷いなく選ぶことができるため。 ウィンザー＆ニュートンの水彩紙との相性はさすがに抜群で、自分は荒目を使ったが、ウェットオンウェットが乾きにくいので、シュミンケよりグズグズを許してくれる。ティッシュと絵の具水とで気が済むまで絵を微調整しても、ガサガサした仕上がりにならず綺麗だった。 透明感や光の表現といった限りなく美しい透明水彩らしさを求めるなら、初心者にも優しいウィンザー、最初は難しくてなかなか上手くいかないが、根気強く取り組むことによって時折、想像を超える仕上がりとなるのがシュミンケだと感じている。

溶けやすくて定着しやすく、発色も綺麗です。今まで使った絵の具の中で一番お気に入りです。

昔使っていたが、しばらくして水彩画に飽きてしまったので友人にあげた。 彼女は水彩の魔術師だったのでとても上手くなっていった。 この絵の具は簡単に上達させる力があるのは知っていたので 久しぶりに水彩に触れたくなってまた買いました。 白色無かったんですね、これはマイナス1000点です。 ただこの絵の具自体のポテンシャルが、10000点くらいあるので基本点数は常に満点です。 水彩において白は無くてもかまいませんが、そのレベルまで到達がまず難しい点と 白色が存在している以上使いたい、その2点から減点はやむなしです

ホルベインからこちらに触手を動かした友人が多いので、念のためにメモ。 この絵具には磁石はついてないです。 色番号の印字が心もちアバウトです。 用意するもの ・油性マジック細書き ・マグネットシート （片面粘着テープ付きカット済み:DAISOの使用） 作業手順 ①キャラメルのように剥く ②油性マジックで色番号は書き直しておく ③動かしやすくするために裏側にマグネットシートを貼っておく ④好みの場所にはめ込む これでかなり使い勝手が良くなります。 色合い、滑り心地は、ホルベインとさほど変化なしです。乾いた時に少し差が出るかなと。 お値段的にはホルベインと同列なので、好みかなぁと感じます。 お気に入りのベースカラーを、倍の大きさのホールで購入できるのが嬉しいですね。

色んなアーティストグレードの水彩絵の具を買い漁って（シュミンケホラダム・ダニエルスミス・Mグラハム・レンブラント・セヌリエ・マイメリブルー・QOR・ホルベイン・ミッションゴールド・ホワイトナイツ・ローマンシュモールその他いろいろ）試してみて、どのブランドにもそれぞれ良さがあり個性があることがわかりました。一番高価なブランドが一番優れているということはなく、要は自分の好みと技巧に合ったブランドを見つけることが重要だと思いました。 上品で、したたるような瑞々しい感じが出したいなら、シュミンケ。粒状化や色の分離で迫力あるドラマチック感が表現できるダニエルスミス。単色ではぱっとしないが、重ね塗りをすればするほどに色が輝くセヌリエ。ホルベインはウエット・オン・ウエットしても海外製のように色が広がらないのでコントロールしやすい。逆に一滴たらすと、どこまでも色が広がるQOR（米国製）などなど。 W&Nは単一顔料の絵の具が他のブランドより多いので、混色しても濁りにくく、パキっとした発色が私の好みでした。ただ、ほかのブランドに比べると水溶けが若干よくないので、使用前に水をスプレーしておくといいかもしれません。海外の絵の具は国内で買うと高いので、いつも海外通販サイトで日本の半額くらいで買うのですが、なぜかW&Nだけは、国内で買うほうがずっと安いのです。そういう意味でも好き。

水彩画を始めて先生の絵の具をお借りしたときに感動して、どうしてもほしくなって購入しました。 これまでの絵の具の概念が覆されました。学校の教材がこの絵の具だったら、水彩画が好きな子が増えるだろうなぁと思います。

Simply the best watercolor half pan sketch box. The last one I bought was actually 50 years ago so I thought it was time for a new one. Low price for the half pan replacements.

Der Aquarellkasten ist gut verpackt und zum versprochenen Zeitpunkt angeliefert worden. Die Ware war wie beschrieben, die Farben sind kräftig und gut zu vermalen. Die einzelnen Töpfchen waren separat verpackt, aber das ist normal und schützt die Farben beim Transport. Auf der Rückseite der Verpackung sind die einzelnen Farben nochmals beschrieben, was hilfreich für eine etwaige Nachbestellung ist.

Saw the older reviews about this being a scam and the pans being replaced with cotman, tin broken etc, but decided to take a gamble and purchase anyways. I had absolutely no problems! Arrived fast and the tin is in great condition, the watercolors were all professional grade and nothing is broken.

Winsor Newton professional watercolor is one of the best brands out there and it’s definitely worth getting! I usually go for their tubes but needed to have a larger set like this one!

I’ve been looking to add this set to my collection for a while now, and given that it retails for $189 ($113 at Blick), I wasn’t in a hurry. I happened to see that this set was listed for $65 here but held off due to all of the reviews alleging that these were actually Cotman sets sold as Professional. One of the other sellers on Amazon was listing them for $80 and had 100% positive reviews, so I took the chance and ordered a set. I received a 24-half-pan set of Professional watercolors packaged in the original box and tin with the paper wrappings intact. All colors were as listed without substitutions; this set is exactly the same as the one sold on Blick. Each pan appears as a Professional pan should and the information printed on the side is accurate. I have no concerns that these are not Professional pans, but I have no doubt that there is or was a seller passing off Cotmans as Professional. As for the watercolors themselves, they are easy to activate, heavily pigmented, and appropriately lightfast. I wish Winsor & Newton would hand-pour their Professional half pans instead of extruding them, but it doesn’t affect the quality or experience too much as long as you are okay with the bricks wiggling around or falling out from time to time. The colors in this set are great for a serious beginner or a professional looking to consolidate (this is going to be my travel set since I don’t enjoy lugging around all 80 Schmincke half pans everywhere, as wonderful as they are). I chose to supplement this set with Chinese White, Winsor Blue (Red Shade), and Scarlet Lake to encompass the 3- and 6-color systems that Winsor & Newton outlines for their Professional watercolors. These fit nicely within the same tin and still allow room for a full-size brush. If these have been on your wish list, snag them while the price is this good—you can always return and report if you happen to receive a set of Cotmans. I’m thrilled that I took the risk!
