I cannot say enough good things about this. It has saved me in the heat since my ac is down in my apartment. Yes it’s only meant to be directly on you but it will cool you down significantly. Don’t listen to these reviews saying it doesn’t work. It does! 12/10

I’m really impressed with this portable air conditioner. Its lightweight, compact design makes it incredibly easy to carry, making it a perfect companion for camping, road trips, traveling, or any outdoor adventure. The 27 oz water tank provides up to 8 hours of cooling comfort, which is more than enough for overnight use or a full work session. One of my favorite features is that it can be powered by a power bank, so you can stay cool even when there’s no access to conventional air conditioning or electrical outlets. The built-in colorful LED lights are a nice bonus, doubling as a soft night lamp for tents or bedrooms. It’s simple to set up, easy to refill, and very convenient to operate. It also works wonderfully as a personal air conditioner on a work desk, providing a refreshing breeze without taking up much space. If you’re looking for an affordable, portable cooling solution for personal use indoors or outdoors, this is an excellent choice. I would definitely recommend it!

It worked pretty well in the beginning but started having issues after a week. Fan started making noises and water keeps leaking when you move the unit around. It doesn’t make any cool air anymore. It’s not worth what it costs. Don’t buy it.

Update....dropping down to 3 stars because after a year the fan is unusable as a bedside fan. The first problem I had was the fan control just stopped. Further investigation shows an issue with one of the pcb traces. I fixed that and it worked for a while until the noises started. A rattle developed somewhere in the fan making it unusable for a bed fan. Also... Evapolar has poor quality control of the replacement media. 50/50 chance you'll get a good one or one that smells like feet. The product is an excellent concept, but lacks in reliability. I always thought the desktop evap coolers were gimmicky, and they mostly are, until I saw this one that actually uses media and not just a soaked sponge/mister. Remember, this is NOT an air conditioner. Performance and efficiency will depend on your environmental conditions. You can only cool down the the wet bulb temp, but it's not 100% efficient so it'll be a few degrees above. Positives: - Design and Build quality on this are excellent. The unit looks good and is well thought out.... This the price. - Noise -- this is by far the most quiet of any fan I tried. That are no annoying rattles or motor harmonic. Just the sound of the fan which has a pleasant white noise sound at all speeds. - No mist, true evap design. This will eliminate any "white dust" that comes with the low cost desktop coolers. Negatives: - I wish the water tank was slightly larger, at speed 2 I get about 5 hours. I'd like one hour more. - the louvers are very loose and may not stay in position at higher fan speeds. All in all a great purchase and I will be buying more to replace other fans in the house. Yes it is more expensive but I personally think it well worth the cost for the quality.
