I am not exactly sure, but they are not cheap flimsy pieces. Depends on what you are going to use them for. My granddaughter uses them for art pieces on clothing, etc. She likes them

No, do not solder epoxy resin. Ever.

Can these be used in the place of proper gears to turn stuff?

No, this is more costume. I make earrings and Steampunk items.
