Although I love Catit products and my cat does too, I found that the fountain was prone to slime and algae buildup. It was hard to clean out every little gap and the seams in the plans I did not help. This fountain is stainless steel and made very simply yet very well. There are no seams for bacteria and algae to buildup on and every part is easy to clean, including the pump. What’s even better is that all the main components are dishwasher safe! It does have very good capacity so I don’t have to refill it as often. In addition, there is a switch for the light. So you can turn the light off if you like. I can go on and on about all the pros of this fountain.
