Nilight Roof Rack Cross Bars Fit for Toyota Tacoma Double Cab 2005-2023

I picked up these Nilight cross bars for my Jeep Compass to haul some extra gear for camping trips, and they have exceeded my expectations for a third-party rack system. Installation & Fit: The Fit: They align perfectly with the factory raised side rails on the Compass. There was no need to force anything or stretch the clamps out of shape. Hardware: The included mounting hardware is heavy-duty, and the instructions were straightforward. It took me about 20 to 25 minutes to get both bars locked down tightly using basic hand tools. Performance: Sturdiness: Once clamped down, they feel completely solid. I loaded up a heavy roof basket, and there was zero flexing or shifting over a long road trip. Wind Noise: I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet they are. Nilight designed these with a low-profile, aerodynamic shape, so I only notice a very minimal hum when passing 70 MPH on the highway, which is completely normal. If you want a dependable roof rack system without paying a massive premium for name brands, this set is a fantastic choice.

They see very compatible for my jeep. They are sturdy. Fit perfectly, easy instructions and very easy to install myself. They look and work great.

These are adequate quality crossbars for the money. Now installed, they do whistle while driving. The installation instructions are missing a lot of much needed explanation. The holes for the car's bolts were too small so I had to drill them out larger. The worst part is the snap on covers .. once installed, these things won't snap on to save your life .. the rubber seals prevent them from clicking into place as does the fact that the mounts bend some in the process of tightening. I had to glue them in place and hold them tight with clamps until the glue held. Of course if they ever have to come off, those covers will have to be destroyed and I'm sure this company isn't the type to keep replacement parts on hand. I put OEM crossbars on my Toyota and that was an entirely different experience. I guess you get what you pay for. I do not recommend these. UPDATE: I tried contacting Nilight through Amazon as they would have it. I went onto their site and filled out a form to address this and SURPRISE SURPRISE .. they didn't bother responding. Pay no attention to anything they say about warranties or customer service .. all a lie.

These crossbars worked well for our RAV4 and stayed secure during our long road trip. We used them to mount a rooftop cargo bag and drove about 2,000 miles without any problems. The build quality is decent, though the fit and finish are not as tight as higher-end brands like Thule or the OEM bars. The rubber gasket between the bar attachment and the car doesn’t seem perfectly fitted or neatly made, so I do wonder if water could eventually get in through that area. That said, they cost less than half the price of the OEM crossbars, so the value is quite good. For occasional use like road trips with a roof bag, they do the job well. I may remove them when not needed since we only use them for longer trips.

The bars are good quality material and look and feel like they should be $100’s more. The mounts were also good quality, but the hardware seems cheap. The one sliding nut in one of the brackets stripped out easily, and left the one side loose. Tried to have it replaced but didn’t have any luck even though I sent pictures. The worst part is that the instructions are not the best. The little rubber strip on the bottom of each bar was full length, so apparently you have to trim it to let the roof brackets mount to it. I thought they were just an oversight because the instructions said NOTHING about them so I threw them out. By the time I hit the road they garbage was gone, and the racks whistled UNBEARABLY with the wind noise. Great price, seemingly great initial quality materials, some poor instructions and hardware. I have bought several Nilight products and have had good luck and good customer service. Just didn’t work with this item so great.

Great value and works great once I figured out how to adjust and install. 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The instructions are ok, but don’t mention that the outer bolt should be loosened significantly, and then pushed firmly down to pop the bracket down enough to attach to the rail tracks. The inner bolt does not need to be as loose for install.

I tried this on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it failed. My issue with all the roof racks, including this Ni Light one, is that, while the sunroof does clear the rail, the clearance between the sunroof opening and the rail is only a few millimeters, which means if you have anything attached to the rails, and the sunroof opens, it’s going to hit whatever gear you have attached to the rails. Now, my tests show that if the clearance between the sunroof and bottom of the rail is three inches, the sunroof will open with my half-inch cargo basket bracket underneath the rail. I saw in the Ni Light product photos that it has a three-inch clearance between the roof and the bottom of the rail. In reality, this clearance is only about 2 1/4 inches. Too short, and it definitely hits the bracket. Big fail. If it were 3 inches, it would have worked. This is why I bought this item, based on the specs in their image. Now, an idiot would say, “JuSt dOn't oPeN ThE SuNrOoF WhIlE YoU HaVe cArGo aTtAcHeD To tHe rAiLs.” But that’s a stupid option. Suppose someone else hits that sunroof button without knowing the roof rack limitation. CRUNCH! Or maybe I have a lapse and forget I have my cargo basket attached. CRUNCH. The real solution is to design with thought in mind for what you’re designing. The 2021-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a panoramic sunroof option, so design your rail higher so that there’s extra clearance available to attach gear to the rail without affecting the sunroof with most cargo brackets. If these sellers don’t want their products returned, then they need to list ALL specs and list them correctly. The clearance between the roof and the bottom of the rail is important for those who have panoramic sunroofs and want to attach gear to their rails, so list the correct clearance. If it doesn’t work for me, I won’t waste everyone’s time purchasing. (Ideally, they’d figure out a way for me to adjust the height of the roof rails so I can adjust the height exactly where it needs to be to not have any dumb limitations.) Also, ugly, unnecessary logos are printed on the sides of the rails. Even if they worked, I may have sent them back just because of this. Nobody wants your logo on their car! So, do you have a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee? These rails will work if you just use them as decor and don’t attach anything to them. OR, if you don’t like unnecessary limitations, keep shopping.
