Excellent Coffee for a fair price.
We've been really interested to try this type of coffee. Seeing XMas on the horizon, I ordered 3 bags, 2 for gifts and one as a treat for my husband and I. OMG is it good!! I could smell the wonderful, full bodied coffee smell through the shipping envelope! We didn't wait for Xmas, and I have to say that I'm going to have a hard time drinking other coffee now. Its so very delicious. Its an expensive type of coffee, and I have priced it out several times, and this brand was reasonably priced enough I felt comfortable going for it. It unfortunately won't be my every day coffee, but I love the idea of having something for special occasions.I was pleased to read as well about the ethical treatment of the animals that do the important, albeit strange, work of making this coffee so special! They aren't in some sort of factory cage, but rather Luwak Star has found a way to gather the coffee beans that they eat naturally in the wild. They roam freely and eat away at the little beans. I am a long time supporter of animal rights and a life long animal lover. Its important to me that products I purchase do not harm special little creatures in any way, and this coffee fits that criteria.

Different, but wonderful coffee
I've wondered about the taste of this coffee for many years. I favor the darker, bolder coffee varieties for their rich taste. One draw-back to these type of coffees is the additional acidity that can easily come from darker roasting methods. This Luwak coffee is definitely distinct. Putting aside the hilarious background of the coffee, it brings a mild flavor with extra "presence" (more flavor) along with different layers of other flavors. I liken the intensity to that of a bold medium-roast breakfast coffee - not overpowering but plenty of flavor. The most amazing thing I noticed, is the lack of acidity. It hits the pallet a lot like hot tea, but it definitely rings through as coffee. The layers that I pick up on are mostly fruit and nut based, but others may taste them differently. All in all, Luwak coffee is a delightful treat that I plan to enjoy as an end-of-the-week treat. Nothing beats a relaxing cup of coffee on Saturday morning. I definitely recommend sharing with others; although, it may be best to tell them of the origins AFTER they've had a cup :).Cheers.

Loved it
I purchased this coffee for my parents for the holidays. I'm not a coffee connoisseur but enjoys the finer coffee's. My parents absolutely loved the coffee and want more. They enjoyed the earthy flavors the coffee produced and thought it was one of the smoothest coffee's they have tasted. With no bitterness and its amazing flavor they want more already. This product is a great gift for any coffee lover.

If you've ever been curious, it's completely worth a try...
This was such a great coffee adventure. We'd been really curious about it for a while, so when the holidays rolled around this year, it seemed like a perfect special stocking stuffer for home. We usually cold-brew coffee, and so are used to a very smooth flavor - this was even more so - nutty, chocolatey, delicate, delicious. Savored every last drop, and endlessly enjoyed joking about the source of the amazing taste...And after reading that the popularity of the this way of producing coffee has led to animal cruelty, the ethical treatment described by Luwak Star was a big factor for why I ordered with them. Item arrived in great time, nicely packaged - altogether a special treat well worth it.

Great to purchase/try a couple times a year for special ...
Great to purchase/try a couple times a year for special occasions. Very first impression was how smooth the coffee was. Absolutely do not need milk or sugar and there was no bad aftertaste either. My wife is not a coffee drinker, however, we tried it together and she loved it!

Good but I am an espresso drinker
Wanted to try it b/c heard it was the smoothest coffee there is.I am an espresso drinker but the recommended method was brewed or dripped. The byproduct coffee is smooth but just not meeting the hype.

Always great to try new things!
This is a gift for my dad who is a fan and expert in coffee. And he really loves it! He was very excited when received it and called his friends to taste. I know this "Luwak" coffee when I watched a movie called "The Bucket List", also a high rared movie as this great coffee! I strongly recommend it as a gift or a self-reward.

Luwak Coffee Review
Ever since I've heard friends talk about it, I've wanted to try this coffee. Since I was going home to join my extended family for Christmas, I ordered a bag for a gift for my brother and as a treat for my family (since I knew he would brew some after opening his gift). My family was at first skeptical, but upon smelling it when it was ground and then again in the cup, they all wanted to try it. We all agree is delicious. We will buy it again for special occasions.
