Neewer TT850 Flash and Trigger kit:This rating should really be split into 3 for rating the flash kit, the battery and the Neewer Customer Service. In a three way split it would be a 5 star for the flash kit, a single star for the battery and another 5 star for the Neewer Customer Service.The temptation for the LI-ION battery in this flash gun was simply to great for me to be scared away by the many bad user reports and have ordered one early Mach 2015. I convinced myself that given the already one year battle with this battery issue in the market, this would surely be done by now and that it will likely be all smiles for me. I did get this one wrong! The order and delivery part was perfect as usual with Amazon but the kit was actually supplied by BestDealUSA. My acute awareness about the battery prompted me to check the voltage of the battery before insertion into the flash.I found a residual charge of 6.6V and immediately put it on charge. After only one hour the charger indicated that this block is finish baked and I found 11.6V on the terminals. The flash started up, pushed some buttons to try and figure this thing out and yes, everything was just great, late that Friday evening after popping some 40 -50 mixed power flashes.Next morning ....power on ... no power? check the battery, get 9V ! Now I am worried.Back on the charger and after a few seconds the charger already indicated a 50% charge and 10 min later the charger said "Full".After 5-10 test pops and 10 hours later I measure 10.8V. I now knew I had to join the long list of other users with the same problem.Customer Service:On that Sunday I sent an email to Neewer ([email protected]) explaining what happen to me and ask if they would kindly help me with this.On Monday morning before I could eat my breakfast ....response from Neewer acknowledging my problem and asking for some purchasing details.Tuesday morning Neewer needed more details about Amazon.com and on Wednesday morning they agreed to send me a new battery without asking for the old return. On Friday I received shipping details and a week later on Friday 27 Mar, I got the replacement battery free of any charges here in western Canada. This battery displays none of what I had found with the original. The replacement did also not have any special markings that would separate it from the troublemaker. So far so good. Time will tell.

One of the four I ordered arrived with a completely bad battery and a second seems to have an inferior battery but once you have a working set in hand the performance to price makes up for the rough start. I've ordered a second battery for every flash just in-case anyway since you can't just grab more AAs when on location though I doubt I'll ever use two sets in a day. The flash output is stronger than I expected and the refresh time is unbelievable; at 1/4 power there is zero recharge wait, as quick as I can push the shutter.The remote power control was the main reason I bought these and I am not disappointed. I don't have to move myself or my lights from position to change exposure or ratios which speeds up my setup and re-set of lights dramatically especially when using things like the Apollo softbox that you have to take apart to reach your flash. Also a big plus for when you have a light on a high boom or far away background.

Be aware I have not used flash yet but I was looking online and came across a review of this flash i purchased. Flash Havoc had a article about this flash having issues with batteries. This Godox V850 Flash and the Neewer TT850 Flash are the same flash just carry different branding. Apparently this flash has been sold with bad batteries (VB18). I looked at my batteries and they are the supposed bad batteries, The manufacturer of the battery has been replacing these batteries with another battery same battery VB18 but the have the letters GREPOW in the top right hand corner. I have not charged my batteries as of yet, but based on this new knowledge I will charge batteries this week and then I will update status. I look forward to using flash

What a great flash. I've bought 3 now.Keep in mind, this is a fully manual flash. For me, it is perfect for on-the-road studio work. I've got all 3 in a brief case along with batteries and remotes and it allows me to grab it, and go.This is NOT eTTL, nor is it automatic. This is a light for a professional who wants something with output control (full down to 1/128th power), wireless remote, and control from the wireless remote.It also supports S1 and S2 slave functions.As to the quality - top notch. I'd put its quality next to any Canon or Nikon flash. It makes my old Vivitar 285s look and feel like junk.

The flash unit arrived and the battery did not work. I emailed Neewer customer service and they sent a new battery within about a week.Other than that it's a great flash. The wireless trigger works well and it's awesome being able to control the speed light power without going over to the unit all the time. Flash output is very consistent. This bundle is a steal for this price, just beware about the battery issues with this unit.

If the batteries they send you actually work its a great product. But the battery lasted one life cycle before dying and was never able to get it to charge again. They also sent me another battery ( within a week or 2 ) which also did not work at all. I've been emailing them since APRIL. I have 37 emails going back and forth. They were always very kind. But I ended up paying for a replacement battery and charger that they never sent. Cause I was so willing to just pay for a working one. Its October. So good luck. I read other reviews and I am not the only one to have this problem.

Wow I'm impressed ! weight, feel build quality of my Nikon SB flash. It's all manual which for me is the way to go. Best of all no more buying stacks of batteries. I'll probably buy a back up. I can see how theses little strobes would work very well in combination. I also have Neewer's video lighting. All in All a great value for the 1/4 the cost of a Nikon SB

I like the unit I purchased. I did buy two sets and one of the transmitters is not triggering either flash so I will have to return it. Other than that that I am happy.

Just received the package yesterday.. the battery was full charge after two hours.. then i made a test shot.. today i was surprised when i learned that it was completely drained... i had difficulty of pulling it out from the flash because it was a bit swollen.. then i charged it again, and it was completely charge in a matter of 17 minutes.. i dont know if it is the charger or the battery that was defective.. i havent try the car charger yet.. it was sad😣😬
