Works well for my double-coated Amer. Akita
Great brush! I have an American Akita who is currently blowing his coat. It looks like Christmas in my house, there is so much fur! The clumps blow around like tumbleweeds and form drifts. Once I got this brush, I realized that it wasn't like a regular slicker brush whose bristles were angled. The bristles end in little balls, like my brush for my hair. I didn't think that it would work until I used it. The little balls on the ends keep the bristles from getting out of place in the holes of the self-cleaning platform. I had a similar brush before and had to take it apart because some of the bristles got out of place. That was a mistake. I rendered the brush useless because I could never get the brush back into its original configuration after that.I don't think I'll have that problem with this brush. The only reason why I didn't give it five starts is because the bristles are kind of short so it must be cleaned frequently. Also, 100% of the hair cannot be removed with the cleaning function, but it works well enough. All in all, I am pleased with the brush.

Doesn't work well
Doesn't collect hair well at all. I have two short-haired cats. They like being brushed, but this brush doesn't collect the hair. It racks it so it's easier to collect with your hand.

Easy to use!
It’s a really neat tool. It works better for my dog with longer hair. My other dog with shorter hair who also sheds does not benefit much from this.
