I remember trying their Classico years ago and I didn’t like it. I felt it was underwhelming, generic even. I’m a dark roast lover anyway and so I wanted to try this years later because I am experimenting with different brands of dark roast. What a disappointing journey it’s been. Freshness is fantastic because they have that sealed can, the value for the money I’d have to say is good because of the fact that you know how much people charge when they spend a lot of money in packaging and they have to charge that and the canister is quite fancy so it came with a solid seal and so you get what you pay for with it and I agree with their pricing so the value for the money I’d say is a spot on. Smelled great the beans are dark and not terribly oily. But as far as dark roast goes, I’d say it does stand up to cream and sugar and milk just fine. I wasn’t incredibly pleased with the taste. I am no coffee snob and I’m not gonna sit here and talk about earthy notes and stuff like that. I just know what I like and when I don’t and I’ll tell you what I don’t like about this, and that is that I interpreted the flavor as being kind of boring, not very complex. Almost bitter for the fact that it was roasted dark only. It’s not the kind of dark roast that you feel that they really worked hard on pulling certain notes out of. Just my opinion. I continue to try others and I will give it this much. It’s so much better than kicking horse could ever be but also it’s about on the same level as black rifle. I think it’s meant for somebody hanging out in a cabin in the woods for a weekend freezing to death. Just my two cents. Another positive about it I didn’t throw the entire canister away after trying it once, I can’t say that for kicking horse.

My parents drank whatever coffee happened to be on sale. They measured quality primarily by whether it was hot and contained caffeine (and usually instant) I, apparently, have evolved into the kind of person who buys imported whole beans and reads words like "intense," "robust," and "notes of..." without irony. This coffee is rich, flavorful, smooth, and exactly what I'm looking for in a dark roast. It makes ordinary coffee taste like it gave up halfway through the manufacturing process. The aroma is excellent, the beans are consistent, and every cup feels slightly more sophisticated than my actual lifestyle.
