Review: Electrically Nonconductive Mounts - Got these to replace the metal standoffs that came with my motherboard bench test mount. I was concerned the metal standoffs could potentially create an issue with conductivity, even though I have my test bench sitting on a nonconductive work mat. So to play it safe I bought this kit of 3mm nylon standoffs. Which is the same size as what I already had, so they’re interchangeable if necessary. So now I’m safely grounded to the power supply. The cool thing about these standoffs is they can be interconnected. The tallest standoff was not high enough so I used one of the other ones with a threaded post on one end, which allowed me to increase the height, then simply used one of the nylon bolts to lock it down. Very quick, very easy, very effective. Well worth the price tag, worked exactly how I had envisioned. Got these to replace the metal standoffs that came with my motherboard bench test mount. I was concerned the metal standoffs could potentially create an issue with conductivity, even though I have my test bench sitting on a nonconductive work mat. So to play it safe I bought this kit of 3mm nylon standoffs. Which is the same size as what I already had, so they’re interchangeable if necessary. So now I’m safely grounded to the power supply. The cool thing about these standoffs is they can be interconnected. The tallest standoff was not high enough so I used one of the other ones with a threaded post on one end, which allowed me to increase the height, then simply used one of the nylon bolts to lock it down. Very quick, very easy, very effective. Well worth the price tag, worked exactly how I had envisioned.
