Hubby had a ‘Big Cheese’ trap which showed no activity over 2 days. These traps are really easy to use, although lightweight and I suspect the plastic casing can be prone to damage. Because of the straightforward ‘straight’ layout, the bait at the end can be easily seen and smelt by curious rodents, therefore tempting them in. I wasn’t sure how effective they would be outdoors but was worth a try. Set them up as recommended, sticking a 2p piece to the far end of the trigger plate and adding some biscuits, fruit and nuts (and a chocolate button to one). Placed them out in the pea patch, one directly opposite the tunnel entrance and one parallel along a row of pea plants at 6.30pm. Checked on traps at 7.30 and both traps had sprung catching 2 field voles! Result! Released the critters in a park a little under a mile away, came home and reset the traps. Checked again 1 1/2 hours later and caught the field mouse I had spotted two nights ago eating peas. I can’t be more pleased by the results thus far! Lost 1 star as its awkward to clean, droppings can get stuck under the trigger plate.
