Exactly as advertised, very well thought out
I was very skeptical initially when purchasing this, especially with the higher price than similar lights. However it has lived up to the advertised features and is a great light. Battery life: the claimed battery life is accurate from my experience, I have been riding with this light now for a few nights and each ride has been 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours long and the light performs admirably, no dimming or complaints from the battery indicator. I only use the maximum setting of high, and was curious why they even included others. However, last night I crashed in the hills and had to hike out and back to the truck (about an hour of walking up and down steep muddy terrain) and the light on low was perfect for navigation at walking speed. After retrieving some tools and other equipment to get the bike unstuck, I hiked back to the bike with the light on the whole time. After unsticking and starting the bike, the light was set back to high and I was able to ride home. Overall the light was on on high for ~2 hours and on low for ~2 as well, no issues. Battery band & Cable management: I absolutely commend oxbow for using a separate battery pack for this light, it allows for easy recharging and hot swapping should you have more than one battery (I will be ordering another as a backup). The battery holder is an arm band with Velcro along the band to allow for adjustment, the band is also coated in a rubbery material which keeps it from moving around on your arm (something that drives me insane and had worried me about the battery placement). I have worn this on my AlpineStars street jacket(leather exterior) and it stuck to that well, I have worn it on my old synthetic fox jersey(smoother softer fabric) and it stuck to that just as well, without having to cinch the band down like I’m taking blood pressure. As a 21 year old 5’8” 115lb male, most arm bands and other similar products do not fit me and I was elated to find out that oxbow had considered all riders in their design(note- I wear the band on my upper left arm just above the bicep and below the shoulder) In terms of cable management the battery’s cord protrudes from one end of the battery strap and I choose to have the cord pointing up towards my helmet. The light has a coiled cable coming from the back with a barrel jack connector. I was skeptical about the use of a barrel jack as well however there is extra sheathing around both connectors which keeps them locked in place(in fact they are mildly difficult to separate, a good thing) I have never had them come apart while riding. Note that the charger does not have the sheathing, allowing easier use while connecting or disconnecting the charger. These little details justify the cost of the light to me. Everything concerning the strap, battery, and cable is manageable with riding gloves on. The light and light output: The light has 3 settings, low, medium, and high. As stated before low is perfect for navigation off bike, hiking around, digging through your backseat, or messing with your carburetor or something else on the bike before or during a ride. I almost never use medium and just go straight to high. On high the light is bright enough for off-road navigation and trail riding, I can see as well as daylight about 30’ in front of me and can make out the trail out to about 100’. Now this may sound like a fairly short distance, however for most of the riding I do, the trail does not stay straight for more than 30’. I would recommend only riding on trails you have ridden during the day, however after riding on some unfamiliar trails last night, the light is adequate for navigating them although with slightly reduced speed. I should have noted earlier that I ride a 2008 YZ450f without a headlight. This light works just fine for navigation by itself however it has definitely been designed for longevity and compactness in expense of super long range light output. After fitting a headlight to my YZ, I can say they couple together greatly, with the bike’s headlight covering long range light, and the voyager giving me greater clarity of what is directly in front of or around me. Mounting the light is no issue, if you’ve ever used a GoPro mount, I would note that the base of the light in the mount pivots as well with a screw, I recommend setting the light to aim higher than you would think just standing with the light on your helmet, considering body position while riding. My light is mounted off to the left side of my helmet because I plan on buying a second one eventually. I had originally planned to buy two lights off the bat, expecting to be disappointed, however I can confidently say that buying just one light will be more than sufficient. I might also note that despite the ‘hot’ warnings on the light, I didn’t have any issues with it being too hot to touch, even with bare hands, although all of those times I have been riding at night(obviously) with a temperature from 20-40degrees Fahrenheit. The button/battery indicator on the light is perfectly usable with gloves on as well. TLDR: this light works great for trail riding! The battery life is excellent and exactly as advertised, the battery band is great, fits well, and doesn’t flop around. The battery connectors stay connected even with rougher terrain and bushes and trees snagging at them. The light output is amazing, allowing for day like navigation on twisty trails, paired with a headlight from your bike, it is nearly as good as daylight. The single complaint I have for this light is inherent to all white blue lights, refraction in the rain and snow creates a bloom that makes it difficult to see. It snows a lot here and visibility during snowfall is reduced. I noticed that oxbow sells an amber filter for this light which I am excited to try out (maybe after seeing if just some kapton tape over the lens doesn’t cut it :P)

Versitile product much more then a helmet light
Bought this product in early to mid 2021 put it away and forgot about it. I just charged it up 11/06/23. I don't do much night ridding and don't wanna get tangeled up while I ride so I added a GoPro strap and now it is so much more,.I can carry it in my vehicle in it's handy carrying case, I can use it in an emergancy, I.can look for any problems with my car, I can strap it to my motorcycle, or a 4 trax or my Electric wheel Super bright, has 3 light settings and added flash mode and a battery life indicator....I am very happy with the versatility this product offers me now it is much more then just a helmet light and it's first charge after all that time sitting idol and it suffered no issues.

Best head lamp
Love this light. Plenty of light for biking even using the low beam. This is one of the few high lumen lights with >2 hr. endurance even at high beam. It's light weight on the helmet and you could bring a spare battery if you wanted. But, the long endurance shouldn't require that. Some riders don't want the battery separate from the light but you're not getting the endurance with a small battery built into the light. This Oxbow light is the bomb diddly.

Works pretty well for mountain biking
Work’s adequately for mountain biking singletrack in tight terrain. Can’t beat price. Helmet mounting works well.

I’m very pleased with it
Use for my electric unicycles. Mount is strong as I’ve hit plenty low branches with no issue. Definitely bright enough to see at high speeds. Battery life been fine for me. It’s always been full power all night for me. I haven’t asked more than 4 hours out of it tho. I charge when I get home so it’s ready for next ride. I don’t bring it unless I’m sure about being out late as it is a contraption with wire and battery block. I have a very light weight light constantly on my helmet and add this one if I think I’ll need all the power. This one here washes out all my other lights even light on the unicycle. It’s legit and I think you’ll be happy with it.

3 strengths, I went through the pitch black trails on my KTM and on medium and especially high it made the forest look like daytime. Very bright and a great alternative to lights on your handle bars. A bit expensive but worth every penny!!

This was not one of the cheapest options and certainly not the most expensive. Had my finders crossed that it would be decent quality. I am impressed. It's well made and performs well. Cable connections are very sturdy. Very good brightness. Battery is compact. I use mine for night riding on a dirt bike and moto trials bike.

The light is great the only thing I don't like is when you plug the battery there is no way to know if its full or not. You need to unplug the battery and plug it on the light if its green its between 70 and 100% could have been a bit better. Not a deal breake for the price

Crazy bright, wide angle of brightness. So bright that if you point at something too close like a three you will blind yourself just by looking at what you are pointing with the light. Battery lasts forever! Would by again!
