Goes a Long Way!
This easy-to-use imitation beef seems to swell to thousands of times its original size! A small amount goes a long way! The first time I used it, I used two full cups of the meat substitute, and then I spent the next two weeks trying to eat up the massive amount that was reconstituted. I recommend starting off with only 1/4 cup as that produces plenty for meals such as chili or spaghetti. The texture and flavor are good. It pretty much takes on the taste of whatever seasonings you use, alongside its mild beef flavor. Vegetarian meat substitutes are becoming increasingly expensive. While the initial price of this meat substitute seems high, it is a good value as it provides protein for many, many meals.

Perfect texture for tamales.
So I do not have a picture because there was no time for it but let me tell you this product was very easy to make and delicious!! I made tamales and I was worry a lot about the texture but it turn out to be perfect!! I rehydrate the whole package as instructed with veggie stock for more flavor and it grew in dice so much that I had to freeze part of it for another recipe. Great product! Definitely buying it again.

Good Enough
I was looking for another brand of textured protein that a friend showed me that they had used and I came across this one that looked like you got more for your money so I tried it and I love it. I made pepper steak and jerk chicken and they both were delicious. I made mine a little extra soft then stir fried it in the pan and it came out just the texture I wanted then I used it to make my dishes. I will definitely be buying this again even my none plant base family and friends loved it and I no longer need to pay $16.95 for a overpriced platter at the carry out honestly mine taste a lot better way less salty and I can freeze my own platters and have it anytime I want.

Interesting
When I first received the package I was quite disappointed to discover there was no flavoring and I had essentially just ordered large-flake TVP. But after letting it sit in my cabinet for a few weeks I decided to use it in a soup. I rehydrated it, added a bunch of seasonings, then sautéed it a bit in a pan before adding it to the soup, and I was actually very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Still, it does seem to be pretty overpriced for what it is.

Shred and Taco Away
You really need to shred, simmer in broth and cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder. Best taco filler or salad topper. My guests still don't know they have gone Vegan on Taco Tuesday! Super for my controlled calorie weight management - so much less fat and so easy to flavor and store in the pantry dry or cooked and frozen. I make large pots of TVP chunks and after it is softened, I put it in my pull-string chopper to a desired shred and return it to simmer and create a large supply. Roll into meat balls, freeze flat and store in bags. Next time, I will try to buy the smaller V-beef TVP bits and skip the string-pull. If you don't have a string-pull chopper, I don't want to know you!
