I am 5'3 and 280lbs with a double chin so i didnt know how well this would fit. I got the special comfort xl version thats 2.75 inches tall and this seems to actually fit pretty well. It does feel like it chokes me a bit, and it keeps my jaw closed (for me thats a good thing) and squishes all my fat, but its not too bad. Mobility isnt so limited that i cant turn my head a little if i need to, but i cant turn it all the way. It keeps my head in a straight upright position and i can lean my head forward just a little to rest it if i need, but i cant lean my head back. The comfort one is a lot sturdier than i thought it would be. I can rest my head on it and it doesnt bend, but if i intentionally push harder itll give a little. It has a velcro strip on the back that you can use to adjust size, but support might dip a little if you have to make it bigger because thered be no foam at the back. Its not smelly or itchy or hot, its just right. I think this can work great depending on why you need it. While its fairly comfortable and supportive, the 15 minutes i wore it was actually more painful for me. I got it because i have pain in my neck and jaw and back of head for unknown reasons. Could be tmj, could be muscle spasms, could be swollen lymph nodes, idk. I find that the support actually puts pressure on my most painful spots (jaw by ear, back of neck) and causes more pain, and it leaves me feeling like i need to take it off to stretch often. So if this sounds similar to you then this might not be the best option. Otherwise this will probably work great if all you need is support and dont have pain in those specific areas. I plan on keeping this because i know itll come in handy in the future. 10/10 would buy again.

I bought this to keep my jaw from dropping during the night and causing apnea events. I was having about 3-5 per hour when I was using tape to keep my mouth shut with a nasal cushion. I get congested at night, so there were times when breathing was difficult. I decided to try a hybrid CPAP mask (full face) with the soft cervical collar instead. As a result my sleep has improved. I'm down to almost zero events per hour (several night it is zero). I'm also leaking a lot less with my cushion. It is comfortable to wear at night and supports my jaw and neck.

I was suffering from excruciating neck pain when turning my head while asleep. The pain was originating from somewhere inside my neck. Based on neck X-rays, my doctor says I have a deteriorating neck condition caused by wear and tear. Aka old age. Taking pain medication for the next 20 years was not appealing. My wife suggested that I try a neck brace. I have been sleeping with the Velpeau brace now for at least 2 weeks and am pleasantly surprised. The brace fits well and is quite comfortable. I was somewhat sceptical but I needed help. I find the brace cooling and it doesn’t get hot and sticky. The first couple of nights were a bit uncomfortable but I soon got use to it. If orthopaedic pillows are not working for you, try a Velpeau neck brace. My sleep pattern is much improved with minimal pain.

After trying this support, i realized that it would be much easier for the person wearing it to shift the hard velcro connector toward the front, and lengthen the soft velcro connector. This way, the person wearing the collar would not have to reach to the back to make adjustments, something not easy for me and others.

My husband underwent neck surgery. The brace they gave him was functional, but he had difficulty laying down. I order two of these and he can lie down comfortably. When I'm driving, the people around me who can't drive may cause me to come to a complete stop. For those who do not drive, this supports my husband's neck. It was well worth the money. Purchase multiples so that you can use one while the other is being washed.
