This was purchased as a special hat for a birthday party. It's rather fragile but it looks really nice. The absolute biggest problem is that the fake gems fall off if you even look at them weird. Although I purchased it for a child I forgot that his head was larger than most children's and it almost didn't fit. So, this is pretty small. I'll get at least another year or two out of it for one kid but I'll have to make sure my oldest son's hair is cut super short next year if we are going to try it. I'm not sure if I would try to take this out and about or plan on using it anywhere that it might get knocked off. At the very least if you haven't super glued on all the gems yourself they will probably fall off. I can almost guarantee that a fall from a high distance would break it pretty easily. Even with all that, though, as long as you are pretty careful I think it's a great way to let someone be King or Queen for the day!

I was hoping to get a crown for my family to take turns wearing on their birthdays as a tradition. But this crown is not the answer. There’s no way this will last more than a few birthday cycles for the members of my family. The cross part that extends from the top center keeps falling out from a small plastic washer that snaps into place on the inside of the crown. I have a big head, and this crown fits me big and even though it’s round it feels like it’s square the way it contacts my head in only a few places as opposed to uniformly. It actually looks really cool, even in person, but between the way it fits, feels, and my questions of it’s durability, I wish I would have spent more money and gotten something of better quality. To be fair though, I think it’s worth the money I spent on it. I was just a little disappointed.

Product is dollar store quality. Item arrived with the gold portions heavily scratched and covered in hot glue strings as though someone had hastily hot glued the gems on as they rushed to get it shipped out. The gems had hot glue pooled over the sides as well that I had to pick off. I was not expecting a high quality item and was willing to overpay because I needed something quickly, but I was not expecting it to come looking like a 5 year old had assembled it at craft time.

Foam band inside the rim for a comfort fit. I marked down value for money because I would expect to pay $5.00 in a "Dollar Store", however, it had the regal look my costume demanded, so I spent the money. It is sturdy enough to stand up to any normal use. It will not stand up to abuse.
