What is a monkey fist

A monkey's fist or monkey paw is a type of knot, so named because it looks somewhat like a small bunched fist/paw. It is tied at the end of a rope to serve as a weight, making it easier to throw, and also as an ornamental knot. This jig allows for a “easier” way to tie that type of knot

Im trying to find out where you get your buckles? Not all buckles will fit.

It came with a couple of black ones and all the buckles we had on hand fit it. It worked with 3/8" (10mm) buckles and the others that we bought in a kit.

If you bought the speedyjig pro, do you have any regrets not getting the longer xl one?

Nah, I’ve only done bracelets and it works great. I plan on doing lanyards and a couple of dog collars and leashes but all that stuff can still be done on the reg speedy jig. For extra long stuff it would still be a handy anchor to hold one side while you weave or braid. The XL maybe great for that stuff but I believe either would work great

Are there any instructions that come with the jig?

There is a full set of instructions (with color pictures) for making a simple cobra knot bracelet. The kit also includes 3 hanks of paracord and buckles.
