Replaced those with pump hose adapters I had, and problem solved. Works great now pond is clearing up after a couple of days. Review: The light "fixture" is well made. The water seals are cheap, the mount is a joke, the ballast is junk, the UV light is cheap. I through away the mount and made my own. The ballast burnt out the first week. But I like the stainless steel "fixture", so I will keep it. I order a Polaris ballast EB-1024 UV. I would have bought a Polaris system, but they are too big and I didn't like their water fittings. After I installed the sterilizer it was cleared up in a few days. When I first set up the sterilizer I did have a minor leak. I applied a little silicone sealer to stop the leak.
