PURPLE LEAF Patio Umbrella 11.5' x 8' w/Base, Left-Right Tilt, Ocean Slate

Really impressed with the quality of this umbrella, especially for the price. The finish looks premium and the materials feel solid and well-made — it gives the patio a much more upscale look. Assembly was surprisingly easy and I was able to put it together by myself without any issues. The instructions were straightforward and everything lined up properly. The included base is also much sturdier than I expected. Once filled and set up, the umbrella feels stable and secure even with some wind. The tilt and rotation features work smoothly and make it easy to adjust shade throughout the day. Overall, this feels like a high-quality product that looks great and performs well. Definitely happy with the purchase.

Never had an umbrella like this before and was very apprehensive about what the midwestern wind would do and how it would look on our deck. Very happy with the quality of materials and how it is put together. Very easy to put together, stable, the stitching is great, and easy to operate and looks great!

We wanted a new umbrella since last summer but we finally decided to pull the trigger this year. The was on sale with a small discount so after finding a color we wanted in the size we needed I pulled the trigger. The timing for delivery was a concern as I am schedule to have surgery on the last day it showed for delivery, but I gambled anyway. Delivery was fast! Instead of the 1-6 days, we had it all in 2. I just finished assembling and opening/closing this new Purple Leaf cantilever umbrella. What a nice product! It's substantial, solid, and very well designed to not just look the part of a quality item, but function as one too. I was surprised by the initial weight of the umbrella, which was notably more than the one we were replacing. Assembled it's quite sturdy and raises and lowers much more smoothly and easily than our old one too. No more lock collar to make trying to close it an exercise in frustration -- this one is simple and fast. This is our third umbrella, first one for this brand and my initial impressions are very positive -- very positive! If you need an umbrella with the flexibility to angle it to block the sun you cannot beat a cantilever. Our first was, and so is this. Our second one was not, which is why we came back to this design -- you'll learn fast if it's an important feature and you chose wrongly. From experience I have found this style handles moderate wind better too. Note: do not expect any umbrella to handle winds beyond a gentle light breeze without swaying or pitching back and forth. Though it should seem like common sense, there are people out there who will complain that it flings all over the place when attempting to use it in 35 mph winds. Just know that this may not arrive all on the same day. Yes, it ships in two boxes and only had shown one tracking number with no notation of it being 1 of 2 & 2 of 2 for boxes. My base arrived the next day, and there was no way of knowing if anything else was in shipment -- but it did show up the following morning. It seems well worth the wait too!

This is a great piece of equipment. The attention to detail and the mechanics are inspiring. We bought the 11x8 that is attached to the pole on the short side and it has side tilt. There is no way the sun is going to get us now. The only reason this is not five stars is because I had to go through a little learning experience. The cloth that makes the actual umbrella comes in two different styles. The best explanation I could get from Purple Leaf was that one is acrylic and one is polyester but they all have the same 240 GSM. I find this hard to believe as one is practically translucent and the other is perfectly opaque. The first one that came was not the color we wanted. They explained this up front and we were fine exchanging Pebble Gray for Ocean Slate. But what arrived was so thin that the sun shined right through! I can't imagine it has the same UV protection as more opaque umbrellas. Anyway, Alex at Purple Leaf was extremely helpful. He sent us a new umbrella cloth at no cost to us. I still can't really tell if this is the polyester one or the acrylic one, but he pointed out that this is "Navy", not Ocean Slate. Either way, it is 100% opaque and we are perfectly happy now. This is certainly durable, the size is perfect for our thin deck, and while it was a little expensive, I expect it to last a long time. This was so easy to set up and it was also very easy to swap out the cloth. A team of really smart people must have designed this because every detail is well thought out. The quality of the stitching and the materials and the grommets makes me happy. My only recommendation would be to do your research carefully into the quality and opacity of the cloth and don't rely on the GSM count. Oh an the delivery time was not as fast as it looked. The base came separately from the umbrella and the delivery time was for the base. The umbrella came about a week later.

We purchased one of these large umbrellas for our pool enclosure because we get a lot of afternoon/evening sun and don’t have many trees due to our view. We wanted something that would help with the sun both in the lanai and in the pool. Spending this much on an umbrella was a little scary especially without seeing it in person, but we priced an installed rollout shade and it was $3500 and wouldn’t cover much of the pool. We took the leap. Once we got the first umbrella up, we were sold and I immediately purchased a second. Most of the sun is kept out of the lanai area now and we can enjoy our evenings outside without baking. We also don’t have to close the curtains on the patio door, just to watch tv. This is very functional and allows us to move it 360 degrees around, angle it up and down, and left to right. It is perfect for our needs. Quality seems very good and it fits well under our pool enclosure. My husband and I put these together very quickly and is not hard with two people. The base comes in two pieces and, even though it is heavy, we are able to move each one as a team. Although the price scared me at first, they are well worth the money.

Great umbrella, this is the second one for us . Easy to assemble, very attractive and easy to use . We ordered on a Thursday and received the product on Saturday. Highly recommended.

The Purple Swivel Outdoor umbrella is everything we wanted! The umbrella is sturdy and well made! The umbrella was not hard to put together. I felt the directions were pretty straightforward. The quality of the material and post are great! The description of Purple umbrella was accurate! The umbrella was boxed well and shipped on time. Customer service reached out to me immediately to see if I had any questions!

We received the umbrella in a badly damaged box and sure enough one of the arms was badly bent. We went through the return process and asked to exchange the defective on for a new one. They sent out the new umbrella and this time the box was not damaged at all. We set the umbrella up and it too had a bent arm. Because the box was undamaged it really seems like they packaged up a defective umbrella and shipped it out anyway. I will be going through the process to get a full refund.
