Worked better than I expected! Removed yellow/brown hard water scale deposits and returned the inside of my ride's radiator to it's original flat gray color.I put about 2 pounds of citric acid powder in a gallon jug, added hot water, shook it up and let it dissolve for a few minutes, poured it into empty radiator, added more hot water until overflowing, drove around the neighborhood for about 15 minutes and drained and flushed out the system w/ garden hose. In just this one quick and easy cleanse the results achieved surpassed my expectations. All the yucky scaly deposits cleaned away for the first time in years. I will be doing this citric acid cleanse as part of my usual cooling system flush-n-fill procedure from now on.Also, I followed this up with a Cascade Automatic Dishwasher powder cleanse. Same procedure, just dissolve a few pounds of powder w/ hot water and add to the empty cooling system. Cascade is safe for auto cooling system components since it is designed for machines made of the same materials. Similarly, I got great results: crud being loosened up and removed that plain water wouldn't remove. Again, drain and thoroughly flush out w/ garden hose. Also, refill entire system w/ DISTILLED water and drive for a thorough rinse before draining and refilling w/ proper coolant and distilled water.I have learned my lesson about using plain tap water in a cooling system. Hard water deposits inevitably build up and clog the works. Never again.
