When product arrived packaging stated only for side rails with spacing. So installed anyways. They seem to be holding up pretty good. I drive on the freeway daily and they are not budging (even tho I have flush side rails). I have not put my cargo bag on yet to see if it holds. So for cars with flush side rails not the best option. I don’t use them to often so it was to much of a hassle to send back. As for the wind noise I would say a little extra but I play my music loud so don’t really hear it.
