恐竜好きの子供のお気に入りになりました。鳴き声は牛のような感じですが、子供は牛ではない恐竜の鳴き声だ！と言っています。本物に近い恐竜が好きな子供も気に入っています。

Nigersaurus is one of my top five favorite dinosaurs. Needless to say, this figure is one I’ve wanted from Mattel for a long time! Nigersaurus was a relatively small sauropod from the middle Cretaceous of Africa. It gets its name from the country in which it was discovered; Niger. It’s most notable for its incredible amount of teeth. It had a row of tightly packed teeth on the front of both jaws, and each line of teeth had several more rows of replacements below the surface. If you counted all the teeth combined, Nigersaurus would have about 500 at any given time! This figure has a lot to love about it, but it also has some flaws that hold it back from greatness. The sculpt is full of gorgeous detail. The head should have been just a little shorter, and the mouth a little wider, but other than that, the head is pretty accurate to the real animal. It features some excellent scalation. The scales along the lower jaw are small and pebbled, while the scales across the face are slightly larger, and more flattened. The nostrils are located at the front of the snout, which is the correct location. The mouth is sculpted in an open position. You can see a tongue inside, and the rows of teeth are present at the front of the mouth. Unfortunately, those rows of teeth are left unpainted, so they really don’t stand out. This is my absolute biggest complaint with the entire figure. Those teeth are so crucial to the identity of this animal, and yet they’re left neglected. The neck is appropriately long, and features excellent detail. The throat is covered with the smaller, pebbly scales seen on the lower jaw. There is some nice sagging skin along the throat as well. The rest of the neck is sculpted with larger, flat scales. Rows of osteoderms run along the edges of the throat. Another row runs down the spine, and two more rows run down the sides of the neck also. This same pattern of pebbled scales on the underside, flatter scales on the upper portion, and rows of osteoderms continues across the entire body and the tail too. There are two particularly large spikes on the back which help to distinguish the activation lever for the action feature. There is some nice wrinkling along the belly, which looks great. I’m happy that the tail is a decent length. However, the tail really should have been a bit longer. While Nigersaurus had a relatively short neck for a sauropod, its tail was still quite long. The legs feature much larger, flat scales. Large osteoderms adorn the lower legs quite heavily, and the rear legs have a row of osteoderms at the top as well. The feet are nicely sculpted, and typical of Jurassic franchise sauropods. They have a nice, pebbly scalation, and great wrinkling around the ankles. I will say, however, that despite how well done the details are on this figure, I’m not a fan of the overuse of osteoderms here. Personally, I would have preferred more of the small, pebbly scales. It’s a bit of a shame that they didn’t just base the figure on the Jurassic World Evolution 2 model. Articulations are pretty basic. The legs can move forward and back. The front legs can swing out wide. The rear legs can pivot outward quite far too. The tail is articulated, but is only a pointless rotation. I really wish Mattel would give the tails a side to side articulation, especially on animals who are known to have used their tails as weapons, ike this Nigersaurus. I also wish there were articulation at the head. Nigersaurus was exclusively a ground feeder. Its mouth was basically an ancient lawnmower! It would have been great to have been able to pose it in a grazing position. The rest of the movements are tied to the action feature. A small lever on the back causes the neck to swing in the corresponding direction. You can move it slightly, or you can move it all the way. Both movements activate different sounds as well. Mattel did an amazing job on the sound design of this one. All of the various roars suit the sauropod perfectly! The coloration is good on this figure, but the applications are a bit lackluster. As previously stated, the teeth are left completely unpainted, which is a big disappointment. The eyes, on the other hand, are painted beautifully, and give the figure a lot of character. I love the mottling on the neck, and how the bright colors of the head eventually reverse into the darker colors of the rest of the body. Unfortunately this figure sees a return of Mattel’s bad habit of painting the front while neglecting the back. I really wish the mottled patterning would have continued on past the front of the figure. Despite my criticisms, the “Wild Roar” Nigersaurus is a great figure. The colors are nice, the sculpt is good, the detail is crisp, and the sound design is amazing! Being that it’s one of my favorite dinosaurs, I’m going to be a bit more critical of it. (That, and I have been a bit spoiled by the amazing work Mattel has done on the Hammond Collection.) I really hope we see more iterations of this figure in the future. Especially if they improve the paint applications and articulations. I would love to have a whole herd of this wonderfully weird, and awesome little sauropod!
