I needed this to safely set up a 50amp welding receptacle for our welder in the garage and this was a perfect secure fit for not only the plug but for the heavy gauge wiring that was used as well. The wires fit securely in their slots and the screws torqued down perfectly. The receptacle feels to be of good quality. This is definitely not waterproof / dust proof and if left out in the open, should have a cover over it for safety.

This thing works really well, and isn't bad as far as attaching to the end of a cable.

Here's what I did that makes installation much easier 1. Completely remove all 4 Back screws and 2 Front cable clamp screws 2. strip wires, open prong clamps, insert wires and tighten pin clamps 3. Install cable clamp but barely insert the screws. This is important. If you clamp the cable down at this point it will be VERY difficult to install the back cover 4. push the pins toward the inside of the cover so that they have some wiggle room. You need to be able to wiggle the pins around in order to line up the brass ends to fit into the plastic holes of the back cover. once you get all the pins aligned to the holes you can push the two body shells together 4. tighten the 4 front screws and then the 2 cable clamp screws. The back cover alignment holes keep the pins sturdy. This seems to be a sturdy connector and the price was good.
