Good stone for removing chips.
It does go out of flat quickly but it is designed to do so in order to sharpen quicker. Previously my coarsest stone was 800 and I don't know how I went on without this. A bit coarser might be better however, as even small chips tend to take quite some time to remove.

This stone is more narrow than described!
I cannot comment on quality as I have not used it yet but it looks fine. But the dimensions given in the description are wrong whether read in inches or millimeters. Different dimensions are reported in different places in the description. The dimensions of the product as stated on the box I received are 205 x 50 x 25mm. Also not accurate, but closer to reality. Actual dimensions as measured are 207 x 54 x 25 mm (8 1/8" x 2 1/8" x 1"). It is disappointing because I wanted a 3" width stone to match my other stones. In one part of the description it is stated as an 8" x 3" x 1" product dimensions, exactly what I wanted. I don't know if "product dimensions" includes packaging, but including the Sun Tiger box it came in it is actually 2 1/4" width. So 3" is way off. In another part of the description it says 2.6" width. So the description is all over the place, but all the mistakes exaggerate the width. I can imagine some of the gross mistakes in Imperial (inches) dimensions might have been a result of misunderstandings by someone from a metric country, but the dimensions in metric are also wrong!

Ultimate bevel-maker
Great primary stone for honing straight razors. It is used to create bevels and it works fast! The only "issue" is you have to soak this stone for at least 30 minutes before use.

Good rough stone but takes forever to soak.
Very fast cutting stone. Good responsiveness, but takes a very long time to soak. This is a soaking stone. Use it for a very dull knife or if you need to change the geometry. Although it cuts a lot, but also wears very fast and also dishes. Must be flattened before first use to have a uniform surface, and you should flatten it often.
