Easy setup, good for novices
I grew up watching my father weld but I'm a complete novice myself, never having welded anything before acquiring this machine. I did a little research online and was able do some minor welding with this device but my father is supposed to come give me some lessons so I should get better. For this device, as a novice, I'm not comfortable saying a whole lot either way on it but it certainly does work well enough. Any issues I had I'll attribute to my own level of inexperience. It's not too big so easy enough to store. The instructions for setting it up were easy to follow. For my level of experience, it seems like a good device to start with, especially with the current price point where beginners won't be too invested if they don't care to continue, or feel like they want to upgrade to something else.

This welder does not weld aluminum!
This is not a welder for aluminum. There is things you have to buy to convert it over. I wish I never would have purchased this thing. The gas leaks on the inside of the welder and you have to take most of it apart to even see where it's leaking. This is the worst welder I have ever bought! DO NOT BUY THIS WELDER!

Looks okay, but poor boxing and damaged leads.
The welder's fit and finish are decent, but the packaging was poor. The stick welder lead's insulation broke to pieces in the box. The clamp looks awful as well with the tiny pin holding the halves together backing out. Now, damage aside, the welder looks fine, the fit and finish are excellent, dials are smooth and it turns on. At some point when I've tested it, I'll update the review, should be pretty soon. I really do hope to be impressed enough to increase rating despite the damaged clamp.

Works great for small jobs and on 1/8 -3/16" steel
Surprisingly good performer for the price. This unit is small; however it seems to produce the rated amperage based on my experience with weld penetration. This works well for smaller jobs (only accepts smaller wire spools - not the 10 pound size). Also, consider running on a 30 amp circuit if you want the full performance of this welder. Does it weld on a standard 115 15amp circuit? Yes, but with limited power. The wire feed was a bit finicky at first, but is working fine now, this is a good small welder once you get the hang of the settings and know its limitations.
