Q: Is the reptiglo 2.0 good for birds? we have way too many biting & disease-carrying insects here for me to ever take my eclectus queen outside!

No, it's probably not enough UVB. We would suggest the ZooMed Avian Sun bulb.

Q: can you put these in your house? would it fit a regular light socket?

They fit in a regular light socket but I don't think that would be a practical use for them. To benefit from the full spectrum of light your reptile has to be fairly close in distance to the bulb.
