We pulled up old rugs only to find the back of the padding had left black, gummy stuff all over our hardwood floors (pix with cat). I tried using goo gone but was difficult to get a small area done. So I ordered Weiman's cleaner (love their restorer as well and had used it in another room but didn't have this issue in the other room). It was much easier to use this. Required quite a bit of elbow grease but did the job (2nd pix) and I know it is safe on my floors.

Works well but it needs to sit for 10-15 minutes before walking on it otherwise it's tacky. Won't buy it again for that reason
