I take both. When I first was diagnosed with gastritis, I took multiple doses of Acid Soothe per day to control pain and to help heal my stomach lining. It stopped the pain within 20 minutes and worked better than any prescription product or supplement I had tried previously. Now I only take it sporadically for discomfort because it still works the best to stop any pain quickly; I believe the marshmallow root and papaya leaf are a great combination. I can go weeks at a time without taking any. I take this product (Doctor's Best Zinc Carnosine) as directed, twice per day during or after meals.
