very good error rates - particularly at layer change. so many other BDR-DL50 discs (tested by me with various high quality drives) display major errors at layer change rendering them useless for archiving applications.

I thought the discs would be printable. They were printed. That could be me misreading the specs? Apparently there are 'MDiscs' and 'MDiscs'. I don't think current Verbatam MDiscs are as good as the originals?The first disc I burned had faults when played. Could be just a one-off?

I love this discs. They are the only ones that guarantee that the images or data stored in them will last for decades to come. Unfortunately, they are monumentally expensive, therefore you will need to decide which documents/photos/data is so important that you are willing to use These discs to save it. In the past, I have bought the 50 GB version, however, I feel like the 100 GB version is a much better fit, considering the large data requirements that people have these days. All in all, I find this discs to be amazing, I just wish they were a little bit cheaper. And then I would probably buy them a lot more frequently

For the moment I like these. However, that will change if these discs don’t outlast me in ideal conditions. I use them for archival cold storage. So for the moment they are great. In 20 years if they are unreadable because they fell apart then my review might change.
