The coating is not dissolved by dogs therefore just passes through. But the coating is supposed to help protect the human stomach. I imagine that the canine aspirin could thin the blood. He weighs 140lbs. His vet said he has a longer than normal body frame and he wasn’t overweight. The arthritis was taking a toll on him, mainly his legs. We tried everything to help relive his pain. I decided to try the 300mg aspirin, it made a big difference, within 24hrs my dog was able to walk down the steps (3 steps) and go out to relieve himself. His legs are still a little wobbly from the arthritis pain, but he’s able to function a lot better, to where we’re no longer considering putting him down. We can tell he feels a lot better, he even attempted to chase a deer out of the yard, he is still limited as far as running. Because he’s a big or Xtra Large dog the dosage is based on dogs up to 120lbs, he weighs 140lbs, I give him one tablet about every 5 hrs, usually with a little food. If not for the dog aspirin we would have had to put him down. For now we will have him in our lives for months to come.
