I like my espresso strong and long so 20grms in and 60ml out. The very first extraction was IMO perfection...just how I like my espresso. The pull was IMO perfect...no channeling, no spitting just a lovely swirl to a central crema flow. Taste was, again IMO, how espresso should be...strong, not acidic or sour with a lasting flavour of coffee(what else?) chocolate and that certain something that defies description but you know comes from a good espresso. I think we’ve found it with this one. The smell as you opened the bag was gorgeous. The bean colour is promisingly dark, they're nicely roasted, and you can tell that they're fresh. We tried it with a manual grinding machine, and with an electric one, and both gave great results. My partner and I are at different ends of the coffee scale; he likes a strong coffee, and I prefer mine to be milder, but somehow this suited us both. The flavour is rich and strong, but it’s also smooth with no bitterness. We will still drink other coffees, but this one is going to be the one we stock up on, especially as it has a decent shelf life, too.
