Could really feel the time the jet had left as the pages grew thinner and thinner in my hands, making it more addictive and emotional, a strong and emotional ending, leaving you in shock and sadness. I got the sprayed edges edition, it looks beautiful as well as the dust jacket. Really a must read, definitely the best book I’ve read, Written so well. A 5 star read. Review: Cool mystery with a nice twist - 📚 Title: Not Quite Dead Yet ✍️ Author: Holly Jackson (@hojay92) 🗂️ Genre: Crime, Thriller, Mystery ❤️ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I really enjoyed this one, it took a little while to get up to speed but once it got going it was a real page turner with enough twisting and turning to keep me guessing until (nearly) the end. The story revolves about Jet, the daughter of a wealthy couple, who is brutally attacked and left with a condition that will kill her in just a few days. Given an impossible choice, Jet embarks on a journey to try to solve her own murder before her time runs out. The premise is a really cool one, it forces a sense of urgency and impending peril that is maintained from start to end. Because Jet is on such a tight timeframe, the story unfolds at a breakneck pace, almost feeling at times like its happening in real time. The past of the small collection of main characters becomes more and more intertwined, with more layers of the story being peeled away as Jet's time slowly runs out. I think this would make a great holiday read for the summer.

An interestIng read
This is the first book I have read by the author. I found myself intrigued by the storyline but never got to liking the main character - Jet. She was childish and selfish and just an overall unlikeable character. The other characters felt somewhat undeveloped and weak. The story itself was good if rather unbelievable. A decent enough read for the price I paid.

Very good
Someone tries to kill Jet in a vicious attack. In 7 days, she will die from her injuries. The story is her race against time to solve who did this to her. So many lies are exposed as Jet unearths one secret after another! It is a rollercoaster of a story, action packed, with lots of twists and turns. Would recommend.

An enthralling twisty, turny tale with much emotion and dark humour.
Jet is entirely engaging, and swears a lot, and one can't help feeling for her throughout this story. Inevitably, it has a really sad ending, but oh, what a joy to read.

Good not great
Well written, good story, ok characters. Worth a read, not sure why it won the goodreads award for 2025 I think in the thriller category or something but I read better thrillers this year so I don’t agree with that.

Just like expected
Without talking about the story itself, the book is in great condition. The book is bigger compared to all of the other Holly Jackson books, but that might be because I bought the hardcover version.

Holly Jackson did it again!!
As someone who lives and breathes thrillers, Not Quite Dead Yet instantly called out to me especially being a huge fan of Holly Jackson. Her books never fail to blend mystery, emotion, and strong female leads in the most addictive way and this book was no exception. This one hit different. It wasn't just a mystery. It was personal, emotional, and quietly powerful in a way I didn't see coming. Plot: Jet Mason has seven days to live. After a brutal Halloween night attack leaves her with a fatal brain injury, doctors tellher she has less than a week before an aneurysm ends her life. Suddenly, her "later" has a deadline. Jet's spent years putting things off - now, she's racing against time to uncover who wanted her dead... before it actually happens. With only her childhood friend Billy by her side, Jet sets out to solve her own murder and maybe even live for real, one last time. What I loved: This book was an emotional slow burn in the most beautiful way. fell for Jet's voice - clever, raw, and unflinchingly honest. It wasn't just about finding out who hurt her; it was about uncovering how much of her own life Jet had kept at arm's length. There's a quiet tragedy in how we all assume we have more time to say things, to make amends, to figure ourselves out. Watching Jet fight through her grief, fear, and regrets while the clock ticked made the mystery even more powerful. And yet, despite the heavy themes, there were moments of humor, tenderness, and warmth. Her bond with Billy gave the story so much heart. And the writing? Just Wow! I didn't realize I was crying until I actually turned the last page. So, If you love stories with mystery and heart, this one's for you. It'll make you cry, think, and hug your favorite people a little tighter.
